It's that time of year again everyone, how much have you flown this year?

Last year showed there is a few amongst us who practically live on aircraft! It was a great thread and gave a great insight into life as a road warrior.

AFF'ers met on my travels: Lots!

Summary:
Quite a few less flights this year, but much longer ones, and I know this goes against the AFF grain, but time became an issue this year so began taking more direct flights.

I'll play :) Definitely not up to the standards of many here ;)

My Airline of the Year: Qantas
My dud airline of the year: Qantas

AFF'ers met on my travels: A few

Summary:
A job change meant my travel budget was slashed and any long trips were off. It turned into a year where I took more flights than last year and saw a bit more of Australia than I had previously but didn't spend as much time on an aircraft as I have tended to previously.

Don't have a list like that. But I've flown enough to go from zero to AA Executive Platinum.

Me too! My 4 AA/US Air sectors totaling <2,000 miles were welcome, not so much for the mileage but for the 4~. PHL-LGA took the cake @ 93 miles with a nice view of Manhattan from only 8,000 feet.

Just a tad over 45.5K miles

Visited MEL - DPS - SIN - KUL - BKK - MNL - ICN - LHR - BER

Fortunately most of the flights were in J. No bottles of champers were injured during my adventures, though they did seem to be rather empty on a few occasions :). I've went from being meh about champers to acquiring a taste for it.

Plenty of Ks need to be jogged as well to ensure my jeans still fit me now.

Best meals in the air - TG masaman beef and OZ bibimbap.
Worst meal - scoot biz class (they could have gave me a can of Campbells cafe soup as it would have been better)
best sleep - BR LHR to BKK at 6 hours of zzzzzz
Worst sleep- TG A340 BKK - LHR (I was wishing I had an AAX premium seat)

All up a happy year using cheaply purchased points to make the journey as much an experience and pleasure as the actual site seeing and experiencing of what's on the ground.

next year looks like I should hit 60K miles with F with TG SQ and OZ, along with AAX / QF / BR / OZ J thrown in and sadly some AC and UA Y with the hope I can do some online checkin upgrading.

Nest year, I have at least one long haul journey planned, which should re-qualify me for *A Gold for another couple of years. Also looking to book an award J to the US to do some shopping, hopefully on EY or QR.

89 flights so far with 2 more before the new year starts. The worst was definitely virgin domestic.

That's 2 of us.

Make that 3.

Last year by some quirk of statistical analysis I was found to have quite long average flight distances on a similar thread. This year only a return trip to HKG and about 8 domestic legs, so I refuse to embarrass myself further by putting up the details. Moving to part-time from January as part of transitioning to retirement, so expect that any work travel will go to others. Oh well, have to content myself with some nice long overseas trips over the next few years (already planned out to mid 2017) instead of lots of short ones.
