Hi all

Firstly please dont shoot me if no announcement comes on the 27th however talking to several of the staff on 2 recent QFi flight's including the CSM they all suggetsed to me that the 27th February was going to see a big announcement. No one could provide any further information, there was however lots of rumors amongst the staff as to likely news, all of which have been covered with in this forum of late.

Again I have no clear idea as to what is about to transpire and it could be nothing. :D

So ... shall we run a book?

Or just speculate ad nauseum like we usually do?

Even money its about investigating the spin of of QFF ("Qantas have hired accountants to advise on the best course to generate value for Qantas shareholders <<Which we bloody hope will conclude with recommendation to sell QFF>> )"

Let's speculate ad infinitum as usual. :)

QFF will be spun off.
LTP will be introduced.
The A380s will be sent to Jet*.

Let's all have a guess with a maximum of three SWAGs.

Given most investment banks have been engaged for advisory and whatnot, fairly safe to say it's the official sale of QFF.

Maybe they'll announce they won't bother with trying to be a full service airline anymore and complete the transition to focus completely on the Low Cost Carrier market by dumping the Qantas name and just becoming Jetstar.

My wish list

QF to return to LHR via SIN.

QF9/10 MEL_DXB to Frankfurt and return

A380 orders brought forward to enable MEL-HKG and SYD HKG daily A380 Flights.

Could it be that they are going to sell its Jetstar Asia (HKG/JPN) Entities as they dont work?

How many variations of possible announcements can we as a forum come up with?

Negative: delay to A330 refurbishment program.

Positive: firming of orders for QFd/QFi with possible new route introduction through DXB.

Really Positive: some sort of JetConnect arrangement in DXB (or other foreign land) to expand services from there on QF metal.

The A380s will be sent to Jet*.

Not quite. QF9 will terminate at DXB, and the spare A380 will be used to replace the 2 group A330's that operate more or less simultaneously between MEL & SIN. F will be ripped out and replaced with Jetstar "Business Class", Y+ replaced by more economy seats. The whole downstairs cabin will operated/marketed by Jetstar, and the upstairs cabin will be operated/marketed by Qantas (as well as flight deck). Don't know what they'll paint on the livery though. :p:p

A380 flights PER-SIN-LHR once new Perth Terminal is completed!!!! (Well us Perthites can dream can't we?????????????)

Wasn't there meant to be an announcement last Friday?
Or was it the one before that? Did I miss something???
