fingers crossed it is abandonment of the JQ franchises and the acknowledgement that the model is an abject failure

all of them can them come back under the QF brand as full service/new world carrier product - maybe even as Qantaslink with a big coordination effort to get schedules and products integrated

Wasn't there meant to be an announcement last Friday?
Or was it the one before that? Did I miss something???

For that matter, where was the big announcement after the election?

I have just 'burnt' 800k worth of points so liability is currently low.....the next month is going to pass so slow!!!!

Not quite. QF9 will terminate at DXB, and the spare A380 will be used to replace the 2 group A330's that operate more or less simultaneously between MEL & SIN. F will be ripped out and replaced with Jetstar "Business Class", Y+ replaced by more economy seats. The whole downstairs cabin will operated/marketed by Jetstar, and the upstairs cabin will be operated/marketed by Qantas (as well as flight deck). Don't know what they'll paint on the livery though. :p:p

What at an interesting thought having a dual branded plane. When you think about it could realistically be achieved in terms of re-fit, especially for an A380.

Its a long shot though, would not be the sort of announcement that would win many people over I suspect.

More routes for QF international would get the big thumbs up from me...... So many destinations are waiting for a direct routing..... That no airline covers , i might add.

The outcome of yet another review of the business. Alan Joyce will tell everyone about the new ten pillar strategy because apparently the four pillar strategy doesn't work. It will involve continuing to hold QFi at ransom with the threat of new aircraft, which they need, until they return to profitability. Selling off profitable parts of the business such as QFF to temporarily improve how the books look (anyone else remember how the refunds from the cancelled 787 orders made the profit look better?). The point is the fundamental issues won't be addressed and just another bandaid applied. Selling QFF to make the books look better in the short term isn't going to solve anything. If they do that it will be clear that management are desperate and the shareholders need to band together and show them the writing on the wall.

Hi all

Firstly please dont shoot me if no announcement comes on the 27th however talking to several of the staff on 2 recent QFi flight's including the CSM they all suggetsed to me that the 27th February was going to see a big announcement.

I would never listen to a word that cabin crew have to say about corporate matters.

Alan Joyce resigns.
JB lured back to QF.
And new livery revealed-flying pink pigs.

Neil Perry party pies to be supplied by Luke Mangan

Triple SC offer.

Bonus SCs automatically credited to your account the next business day after the correct end-of-day process is run.

I can confirm that I will not be joining the Qantas board....... :p

Half Year results?

Investors Key Dates | Qantas

I was going to chip in that anything scheduled this far out and if the date is getting known, it will be a significant corporate announcement, rather than about schedules. With Corp Announcements, obviously you have to corral all the relevant people in one room, and that takes a bit of forward planning and PAs etc well briefed.

So the 27th is Corporate Results day - but doesn't prevent another announcement at the same time (which hopefully will take the notice of the press away from the (suspected by me) coughpy results :) )

So let the speculation continue!
