Got the same.

As for "Return Flight" I wondered about that too, but given the T&C's [-]you can discount it[/-] one-way flights are eligible for the promotion:
* Recipients of this email will be eligible for this bonus Status credit offer by registering via qantas.com between 30 May and 31 August 2012 and making a booking and travelling on an eligible Qantas flight between 30 May and 31 August 2012. Eligible flights for the purposes of this promotion are QF marketed flights with a QF flight number on your ticket, and only flights between Sydney and Perth, Canberra and Perth, Melbourne and Perth or Brisbane and Perth. This offer is valid for new bookings only and does not apply to existing bookings or Classic Award flights. Offer only available for eligible full or part travel of an itinerary between 30 May and 31 August 2012. Bonus Status credits will be awarded for each eligible one-way domestic flight and may vary according to fare type. Your Qantas Frequent Flyer number must be recorded at the time of registration and booking to earn bonus Status credits. This offer is valid for the recipient of this email only, is not transferrable, cannot be combined with other offers and does not extend to other passengers in your booking. Qantas may extend the offer. Bonus Status credits may take up to 6 weeks after completion of your travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.
[UPDATE]
Basically this is a 1½ x SC offer for selected flights between the East and West coast of Australia.

Yes, I also received this offer.
That return thing does not make sense... Melb to perth is normally 80SCs, so return you would expect 320sc's in total, not just an extra 80SCs...

Also, no mention of the 744... thought they would be pushing that as well...

This is really frustrating....heard abou the double SC offer last month and now this....but still havent received anything from QF and i'm WP looking at doing status runs later in the year as i'm going to be short to retain it....

Why are they doing this selectively?

Have flown on Many A330 flights Mel Per return and NEVER got a sky bed in business are they enhancing all A330 to have Skybed .... I think not

When I first saw the title of the email ("Bonus Status credits offer...") from Qantas my heart lept for joy  ... wild visions of the craziest JASA runs whizzed through my head as I visualised retaining WP for another year.

Then I read the email properly and saw that it was just for flights to PER. :(

I registered anyway. I don't anticipate flights there but it doesn't hurt.

My heart jumped too! Right now, the only travel I'm planning with QF is a JASA run to have a soft landing to Gold... All my travel right now is with VA.
I am thinking of doing the crazy US status run later in the year just to retain platinum.... There are some rumours that Qantas is letting WPs run for another year without qualifying in order to compete with VA but I'm not going to hold my breath...

Is this in response to VA in any way?

Or is Qantas really wanting to overcrowd their lounges even more?

Surprised no ones has asked yet but.... wonder if you could combine this with the double status credit offer? :)

The terms are quoted in post #2 and the answer is no. Cannot be combined with any other offer. Same as the HKG double offer.

Sent from the Throne

That much is easily answered...

"This offer is valid for the recipient of this email only, is not transferrable, cannot be combined with other offers and does not extend to other passengers in your booking."

^^ same for me. I unfortunately have no need or desire to go to Perth, particularly in that 3 month window :(

Ahhh well, I greatly appreciate the offer anyway.

With the frequency of the offers these days, it's only a matter of time before one lands in your in-box.

And a big thanks from all the Brisbane Perth commuters. Grr....
Huh? Is it Gr... because you did not get the offer or Gr... due to you believing BNE flights are not Qualifying?

If the latter, then, in fact, BNE flight do Qualify: "... only flights between Sydney and Perth, Canberra and Perth, Melbourne and Perth or Brisbane and Perth. ..."

So, I received the email and registered straight away. Then I got to thinking...

My anniversary date is 30 June and I’m only 200 SC away from 2400 = extra privileges. I would love to get PG for my better half.

My upcoming travel consists of the following:

DRW-PER – 10SC
PER-KGI – 20SC

KGI-PER – 10SC
PER DRW – 20SC

Now thinking instead of flying straight back to Kalgoorlie perhaps:

DRW-BNE – 20SC (work paid)
BNE-PER – JASA – 80SC + 80SC?
PER-KGI – JASA – 40SC

I’m al little confused though, when booking a JASA with two sectors are they both in J? As the required cost is only around 54,000 points..

What your you thought?

Cheers..

I'm starting to get really annoyed with these promos, I am never part of them (other than a Double SCs last year), and would like to be, (cos I fly to Perth often, even planning a trip in Aug) :(

Any way to see if the offer applies to me, just the email hasn't arrived yet? :P

Hi All,

The only advice I can offer to give yourself the best chance of being selected for these offers is to make sure you are registered to receive emails from QFF.
This, like most offers, is for selected members so you will only be eligible if you received the email from QFF and click on the registration link.

The Status credits listed in the table are based on a return flight, but you still earn a bonus on one way flights. So for example, if you book a return flight SYD-PER-SYD in discount economy during the offer period you will earn 60 SCs (40 + 20 bonus) or, if you book a one-way flight SYD-PER, in discount economy during the offer period you will earn 30 SCs (20 + 10 bonus).

As has been pointed out, this cannot be combined with another SC offer however if your flight is eligible under two promotions you will earn bonus Status credits at the higher rate.

Cheers,
Red Roo
