I am noticing each time I head into the SYD lounge it has additional enhancements. The latest being no shave foam, moisturiser, razor or toothbrush in the bathrooms.

Additionally, 3 from 3 visits now, service seems to have been enhanced as well with meals being mixed up or portions forgotten.

This is a flagship Lounge for QF and it seems to be loosing its Mojo.

Let's cut QF a break, please remember that this an airport lounge and not a personal club.

All the toiletries are available, just ask.

Any restaurant will mix up orders.

By any comparison the F lounge in Sydney would rank amongst the top 3 lounges anywhere in the world.

Lets be grateful for what we have in our own backyard.

Yes when I was there last month had orders mixed up/forgotten also, I wonder if it was the same waiter.

The only problem I have encountered is the cranky pants that mans the spa desk.....couldn't hurt to crack a smile every now & again!

If you want to experience a poor flagship lounge try LHR CCR.

I tend to agree with Feper.

If there are toiletries missing from the bathroom... Just ask. I have noticed that some times too.

With regard to the restaurant....... Touch wood..... I have not had any issues with my meals. (I would have been to the SYD F Lounge more than 100 times) This could also be partly due to my severe nut allergy so my order tends to be taken to the kitchen rather than just entered on the terminal.

I agree though, that this is Qantas' flagship lounge so the expectation from guests is rather high.

If the toiletries are missing it is generally because one of our fellow members using the lounge has decided they are worth a five finger discount. Seriously people I've watched them do it.

It's not so much a 5 finger discount..... They are there to be taken. I take the shaving cream so I don't need to worry about LAG's. I leave the unused portion in the rubbish at the hotel before I go back to the airport.

I agree! I take the razor and shaving cream and toothbrush/toothpaste. When you're weekending to NZ with no checked bags, it's handy to be able to have these things. I feel no shame.

Not wanting to sound elitist, but with some big double status offers out there, they F lounge will be getting busier, I was there a couple of weeks ago heading of to Manila and there were a couple of US flights due to go out, was very busy.

Lock up the silverware!! The peasants are coming!!!

You can thank anat0l for that! ;)

Oi!! I have standards, you know... :p :D

People walking out with 4-5 same items is where I have a problem

I have not seen that..... However I am 100% in agreement with you.

...and that's not something I will do. If I want an extra, I'll ask for another one. (The cleaners who maintain the bathrooms are hard to catch at times).

I know the Payot moisturiser was the first thing to be commonly "missing". I know the rest was usually in place, although one time the razor and cream was missing (replaced on request).

Incidentally, during that incident, I decided to "investigate" whether it was just an oversight or not. So I had a quick peek into two other spare rooms (that were made up already) and found that they were missing too - in fact, one had all the contents removed from the drawer (except for a vanity pack and shower cap).

At that point, I think it's not an enhancement, but just someone who has raided more than their share.

Perhaps we should have something more like some other lounges around the world (OZ in ICN; TG in BKK; LX in ZRH) where shower rooms are locked until reserved and used.

AJ was recently quoted that they are spending $50k pa to replace nicked teaspoons:shock: Wonder how many of them are confiscated at the next security point!

Sorry amaroo, I have to disagree I have had very good service in LHR CCR and am looking forward to the one in JFK next month. The staff have been attentive to guess walking around ask if you need another drink and nibbles - I make use of the cabanas for a couple of hours. I am curious as to why you feel they are a poor F lounge??

No - I wont cut QF a break. The F lounge is for guests who are paying a cough load of money (and or points) or have flown QF enough in the preceding months to have earned the right to an F service. I have used 3 F lounges at SYD, the original, the temp and this one (yep - been sufficiently statused) to access for many years, and there is a marked decline in service levels.

I cannot agree with your statement of top 3 lounges anywhere in the world - what is your statement based on?

there's 3 off the bat who don't agree with you, neither do I. (I placed the highest rank of 4th as 1 on the list for your perusal)

Yes - restaurants mix up orders, 3 times in a row with a table of 2, 4 then 2? Possibly Meh.

I shouldn't have to ask for toiletries, this is a 1st class establishment - regardless of the reasons the toiletries are missing.

Yes well that's not a hanging offence................
