JQ travel to earn FF points - for a Fee [even in 'Business']

Just wondering when people do travel JQ, would passengers be willing to pay an extra fee to earn FF points and SC when travelling on Jetsaver fares?

The answer would be a yes in most cases so long as the surcharge was reasonable, and that is the 1 Million dollar question!

Not me, if I want point and SC I pay extra (usually) and fly QF. I only fly JQ if its cheaper!

If the fee for earning SCs worked out at <$5 / SC then it could be interesting.

Not me, if I want point and SC I pay extra (usually) and fly QF. I only fly JQ if its cheaper!

Even if the JQ fare was a cheap $19 MEL-OOL sale fare?
Or a $199 MEL-SIN sale fare?!

My AVV/SYD JQ trips would become en vogue again. My last company flew me on JQ Y fares only whereas this company if flying JQ, they buy the cheapest available with luggage hence I infrequently fly JQ now and drive the extra distance to MEL

JQ cheaper fares - SC's above all, and if FF points attach, so be it

The answer is yes, but if the surcharge ends up meaning that it's almost just as good to fly QF, then I still won't be giving JQ much business.

Status is probably more important than the points in this case.

If employer paying and JQ convenient then Jetflex for me, self funded, QF fly the same route wouldn't consider JQ at any kind of surcharge for SC/ FF points

An extra fee to earn FF points... Interesting, I wonder what the earn rates will be. Surley they would only do it to make a profit.

I have heard a few things about the 1st of May for Jetstar now..... interesting.....

Just a few days before DJ's re-launch too... funny that.

Of course it's only to make a profit, will be interested to see what the fee will be.

Let's say $10 for MEL-SYD, and you earn 1000 points... A 1% surcharge to potentially get a 7.5% return if you use points for J class overseas redemption.

Funny how the Qantas group seems to be going after DJ with Jetstar. Seems JQ want to leave the bottom of the market to Tiger...

Yep, but also Qantas want to do anything to hurt DJ in any possible way!

Assuming FF points (for a fee) are possible on JQ then it makes DJ's product harder to sell given it usually has a higher price.

Funny that recently a few work mates of mine booked JQ, and thought they would earn FF points as they booked through the Qantas website and entered their FF number. They said "I should have flown Virgin Blue instead"

Depends what price Jetstar put on the points. If this does happen, I'm not expecting any pricing favours from them.

DJ's big problem has been its near to Qantas prices and its near to Jetstar service.

On reflection, this bit worries me - does that mean that a new charge for FF points will apply on all JQ fares, including those that already earn points? That's more like the type of enhancement we've come to expect / dread...
