The MEL CL closed last week for renovations. They are expected to take around three months. According to a lounge staff member, it will be "amazing" when it is finished. Until then, the CLs are being directed to the J lounge. There were a few lost souls there this afternoon.

Let the people spotting begin.

cough!!! That means QF cant offer it to us after leaving the lunch tomorrow. That is totally disappointing.........

Well that means I'll be flying VA for the foreseeable future. The prospect of having to share an already busy J lounge with our less than desirable political underclass with its added civil service cronies, then heaven forbid the senior management from the ASX list companies, and finally 'celebrities', makes me pleased to have maintained VA platinum status.

Finally, a decent reason to fly VA! haha

No celebs but I noticed there were a few "older" couples in the J Lounge who appeared to be needing a guided tour of the F&B offerings

Interesting, we really need BR back here to tell us how it differed to SYD and what he's been told of the renovations. Perhaps it's simply being brought up to standard, or maybe it's the first wave of a new design. Having only seen a few photos of the SYD lounge, if it's already at that standard I can't see how it could get any better!

Styled after the MEL/SYD F lounges?

Maybe it's timed so that newly retired pollies come Saturday won't ever know the CL actually exists and they will go away.

The J lounge is a bit of a zoo now, pretty hard to find a seat.

I hope the CL riff raff find a new home soon ;)

I thought the same Tuesday morning. Difficult to find a seat, a queue for the dunnies ... welcome to the premium experience.

Regards,

BD

In the Mel j lounge now. First time since the CL closure. Feels a little off putting seeing APS SES here.
