Australian Public Service, State Emergency Services?
I have no idea what that means or who you saw...

Meh who cares, boring public servants. Abbott will probably fire them soon anyway ;) ;)

Let's hear about someone more exciting!

APS : Australian Protective Services (they protect the pollies etc.)
SES : Senior Executive Service (a job title / designation for senior public servants)

Interesting VA have made a small private area for The Club members near the entrance of their lounge in MEL during the renovations, surprised QF haven't done something similar for CLs in their J lounge.

Given the number of politicians, higher level civil servants and "celebrities" who have CL status I do wonder if the existence of a separate lounge is there for the protection of other travelers. The current renovations have certainly highlighted the need to avoid the J lounge. If QF were to let these "types" wander freely with other pax, as the renovations are currently forcing them to do, is there a danger of mass exodus to VA? I have scaled back my QF travel during this period and VA is definitely seeing more from me.

My favourite leather sofa from the TV area of the J lounge was removed a few weeks ago. Mrs 340 quizzed one of the staff about it and received a rather cryptic response that it was removed due to the CL renovation

being used for a rest bench for the people doing the reno.

I was thinking helmets and hi-viz for the SES mob. :).

Although why any public servant should have access to CL is a mystery.

Meanwhile we'll still enjoy our 'slop' in the J lounge. :-|

So is the CL closing for the Xmas break like the J lounge?

If not surely P1s should be allowed to use the CL rather than slum it in the QP. (Gratuitous self interest here.)

The CL lounge is now open for business.
The J lounge is now closed for business.

So seeing they came into my lounge for the last few months I should have reciprocal rights. Yes?

I wouldn't normally post pictures of the Chairmans Lounge if it's good enough for Australian Business Traveller, it's certainly good enough for AFF.

Gee, for so little food you spend a lot of time in the bathroom!!

(Thanks for sharing ... I did wonder what all the fuss was about during the crowded J times!!)
