Hmmm. Not that I'll get to enter the CL again but I'm not a fan of the coloured glass. I think it will look dated really quickly.
I wouldn't normally post pictures of the Chairmans Lounge if it's good enough for Australian Business Traveller, it's certainly good enough for AFF.

It's a bit.... meh!!
I don't think it's the physical lounge per se that is the drawcard of having CL status
I would be happy with the op-ups and not use the lounge.I'd happily use the physical lounge and not talk to anyone if you're suggesting it's more of a networking tool

Whilst I figured they were not the norm, at least CLs would be higher up the food chain when it came to op-ups.Much to my surprise CL passengers don't routinely receive op-ups. As recently as this month I flew on a 737 with a CL in Y and as many as four seats empty in J. And it's not the first time I've seen CL down the back when there's space up the front.

I hope for them that they have some priority over P1s, so they can get a bit more then 3% upgrades per year...
New fittings, esp the glass look cheap and horrible. I thought it used to look like the F lounge, but green?
From memory, no, the Melbourne CL was older than the green First look of the CLs in Canberra, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. (I haven't been to the Brisbane CL.)
As we all know some CLs get their status by virtue of their work without any actual flying and do very little actual flying. Surely a P1 should get a discretionary opp up ahead of those CLs?
Of course if the CL does enough flying to achieve P1 in their own right then they should be first in line for the discretionary opp up.
