Having nothing better to do the other evening, I pondered the question of how long some AFf's had been members of teh QFF programe, and in fact how long it has been in existance?
my membersip started (according to my membership card) in April 1988. my membership number has 7 digits starting 004****.
I am certain there are plenty who have been members far longer than me. BUT who will claim the crown of longest serving membership.

then this thread should be closed as it has obviously been done to death

Longest is different to lowest.

I joined my Daughter's partner to QFF last evening using EDR and their QFF number was 19xx_xx_ - first time I've come across an eight digit number.

Longest is different to lowest.

Not sure that is a fair statement in the context of QFF, with numbers being issued in order of joining AFAIK, at least until recently when it looks like things are jumping blocks!

I have a five digit number and I have been with them for 21 years. I got no birthday present from them lol could have Status Matched me seeing as though I am about to give them $7000 in travel from OOL to ADL for the next 6 months :-)

Well I am a 7 digit number and I have been a QFF member for app 10 years.

It depends from which side of the fence you joined Qantas. There was lounge/club membership available from both Qantas (Captain's Club/Lounge??) and Australian Airlines (Flight Deck) when they merged.

Very good point!

So, as a matter of interest, if someone does know the answer:
From the numerous other - somewhat aged - threads, who does take pride of place for the earliest QFF membership date?
The earliest I recall seeing posted was the father of an AFF member, who was still flying, and I assume using his membership perks, two years ago. :) Good on him!
There seem to be several threads but no definitive answer in terms of a current AFF member?

As a new member of the forum my QFF number is 0005*** and what is great is the QFF login accepts just the four digit number - look at all the keystrokes saved over the years.

I'm in the 1 million range, but my partner is in the 300xx_ range - much earlier than me.

Im afraid I actually agree with markis10 for a change - recycled thread - again.

The search engine does not discriminate if you have been an AFF member for 1 or 5 years :|

MunitalP: I did follow the numerous threads, but still didn't come up with the answer. It's trivia, of course, but so is much of the subject matter we find rivetting or mildly amusing on this board.

No doubt it was "operator error" on my part in not finding the answer but, if you do know, maybe you could share? Just for a bit of fun? Not too many key strokes. :)

Welcome Maroonone. You must be in contention for one of the earliest memberships. :p

In relation to the OP - It's about two weeks short of 18 years since I joined - I'm sure there's quite a few here who have been a member of Qantas Frequent Flyer longer.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Well then, I'm probably way older than you, Serfty, having clocked up more than 25 years with QFF - but I doubt that my record is anywhere near the longest. Someone will emerge from the pack to take the trophy soon. [It IS Brownlow night, so there is a precedent.]:p
