[It IS Brownlow night, so there is a precedent.]
Well no-one emerged from the pack other than to run second - Jobe did a "Vo Rogue" ...

What was it like in the early days, when points only had a max life of 24 months?

I'm too old to remember!:)
What I can tell you is that I didn't make the most of my points until I discovered AFF relatively recently. I've posted thanks to the members on several occasions previously - but it's worth doing again.
So thank you to all those members who share words of wisdom, tips and insights to those who have come lately to this game. :p

7 digits and starts with 22, member since 99

Im afraid I actually agree with markis10 for a change - recycled thread - again.

The search engine does not discriminate if you have been an AFF member for 1 or 5 years :|

The difficulty is that the old threads are closed - this thread serves to add new information (people that have joined since).

I joined Jul 93 and my number is 029****. There are several AFF members who joined way earlier. I was a Golden Wing member for nearly 10 years before that

6 digit number here. Oct 95. Not as long as some!

Sent from my Telstra iPhone using the Australian Frequent Flyer application.

As a new member of the forum my QFF number is 0005*** and what is great is the QFF login accepts just the four digit number - look at all the keystrokes saved over the years.

Damn! I was going to stick my hand up (again) with my 0008*** number and Member since January 1983, but the maroonone has just gazumped me. Well done that man!

We have a race leader: Maroonone, with a 5xx_.
Any lower bids?
And Maroonone, what was your joining date?

Well I did used to be proud of my 16xx_xx number (joined in 1997) compared to my husband's 21xx_xx.

OT, but are Velocity numbers sequential ?

Velocity numbers started at 2100 000 000 which was a stupid idea, I think I told the DJ rep that once.

I have no claim to fame on my QF number 232 **** July 1999.

My dad has a 0035 *** which I think was a 88 start date.

My join date from my card is Apr 91 but have a feeling I was in TAA scheme rpior to QF takeover. Guess I would have been LTG (2000 to go) now except I had 10 years of mainly Ansett and lost 1 million + points when they went down. Still a lot better off than their staff and suppliers.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

Doersn't count, doesn't count - I'm still the winner!!! Na,na,na,nana!

Only joking folks - only joking!

Just did some googling and according to Crikey Ansett launched their programme Aug 91 and QF "cobbled togethe" theirs in a hurry in response. The was a TAA "Captains Club" prior to QF Takeover. While my card says Apr 91 my reassessment occurs 31 Aug annually.

TAA Flight Deck Club in the early 80's. Prior to that there was the (can't think of the name) - but it was the second door on the left facing the security check point in the old Adelaide terminal. VIP Lounge??????Just a room with some chairs and a fridge as I remember. Any help on that one?

I paid for life membership of the QP early 1992 and got a 6 digit number beginning with 1.
Signed mrsdrron up for life Golden Wings membership-that didn't go so well!

I was sitting next to an old man once on a trip between Sydney and Canberra and I was fascinated by him as he was taking notes on the meal, flight number and plane ID. So I peered a little more closely, but not wanting to look like I was reading over his shoulder. I then noticed, stickybeaking, that he had a number of 000001x on his BP. Yes, two digits below 20! I cannot be 100 per cent sure of this as I didn't want to gawk too much, but I was fairly sure. I wished I had asked him about it but I felt silly and didn't want to let on I had been stickybeaking. He did, however, let on to me that he was only visiting Canberra for the enjoyment of flying.
