Hi All

I'm excited to share that AMEX Explorer refer a friend links are now live.

Sign up using a referral link, and you'll earn 110,000 points (as a referrer, I'll earn 20,000 points for each referral made).

Receive 110,000 Membership Rewards® Bonus Points when you apply online by 30 January 2017, are approved and spend $1,500 on your Card within the first 3 months of Card Membership. C ard comes with a $395 annual fee and minimum income requirement of $65,000.
Other key highlights:

  • $400 travel credit for American Express Travel (book flights, car hire and hotels online - I've found AMEX competitive when compared to other major online travel booking engines) - (offsets the $395 annual fee)
  • The usual suite of insurances are provided, including Smartphone Screen Insurance when you pay for your phone / contract with AMEX (for up to $500 repairs).
  • 2 x invites to the AMEX Sydney International lounge are also on offer.

I'd really appreciate it if you'd consider using my referral link. It is: http://amex.com.au/refer/michacDAxPk

Hi -

As with the above posts, I think this is an absolutely cracking card. Effective 1.5 pts / $ for Krisflyer, Velocity etc. Just over 1 pt / $ for AAdvantage if you wash through SPG.

Can also get 5,000 bonus points when you sign up a supplementary card holder, on top of the 110,000 you'll get by applying through my link.

Here's my link: http://amex.com.au/refer/samfgwQE

This is awesome for hotel accommodation, particularly with SPG.

110k MR points converts to 55k SPG points, that +$5k of spend gave me enough points for 6 nights accommodation at the Sheraton Times Square New York for a net saving of about $4k!!!

Never had a referral link used before so anyone who does is much appreciated :)

This is a great card and a keeper in my view with its good earn rate in a flexible points currency that is Membership Rewards.
My referral link is http://amex.com.au/refer/7kraa

110k points on offer with my link above, while I the referrer receive 20k.

Please read the Ts & Cs at the link but also consider the experiences of others on this forum who have received the sign-up bonus if they do not currently have a Membership Rewards Gateway account. See the Explorer thread for more info.

Thanks to anyone who uses my link!

Here is mine :) http://amex.com.au/refer/Ty3lp

If you are collecting United miles like me, you can transfer the points to SPG then onto Marriott. If you meet a minimum spend and get 3k extra points, you will have 113000 amex points which turn into 56500 SPG then 169500 Marriott.

Normally you can get 75k united miles with 168k Marriott points. (Marriott Travel Reward) but Until Nov 30, 2016, United is offer 25% bonus if you convert Marriott points (max 20k). This will turn your Amex points into over 90K united miles. (80k required for a return trip to South East Asia in F) United & Marriott Promo Registration

American Express has done it again!

With this new(ish) card, it is offering 1.5 Airline Miles per dollar spent on most credit card purchases.

It gets even better, if you apply the card via Referral link below, you get 110000 Gateway Membership Rewards bonus points instead of usual 100000 bonus points. That is extra 10000 Gateway MR Points that you don't get if you apply via standard Amex promo link. Please see the referral link below:

APPLY HERE

So 110000 Gateway Bonus Points equates to 82500 Airline Points:

- Virgin Australia Velocity
- Singapore Airlines Krisflyer
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
- Emirates Skywards
- Etihad Guest
- Thai Airways Royal Orchid
- Malaysia Airlines Enrich

Or 825 Air New Zealand Airpoint Dollars.

So what can 82500 Airline Miles get you? Here are some of the examples:

Singapore Krisflyer:
- One-way Business Class from Australia to Europe served by Singapore Airlines (80750 Krisflyer Miles + tax)
- One-way First/Suite Class from Australia to Hong Kong served by Singapore Airlines (63500 Krisflyer Miles + tax)
- One-way First/Suite Class from Australia to Tokyo served by Singapore Airlines (80750 Krisflyer Miles + tax)

Cathay Pacific Asia Miles:
- Return Business Class trip from Australia to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific (80000 Asia Miles + tax)

This is a fantastic deal! Just signing up the card and spend $1500 within first 3 months, and you get a free Business or First Class trip ticket with it! If you are interested, please apply via the following link:

Here is my quick and easy summary of why this card is amazing.

- If you already spend $400 each year on travel (e.g. on flights and hotels), you could effectively break even with this card.
- The bonus points are worth at least $741 dollars when used to offset normal spending. When used for flights, this could be in the thousands, especially when used for Singapore Business/Suite class.
- For KrisFlyer and many other airlines, this is one of the best point earning card for general purchases.

If you have found this helpful, please return the favour and use the referral link below which entitles you to 110,000 bonus points (and 20,000 for myself) :)

http://amex.com.au/refer/sNY9z

Explanation

1.
- $395 annual fee credit card
- $400 annual travel credit through amex travel

Key Takeout
If you already spend $400 each year on travel (e.g. on flights and hotels), you could effectively break even with this card.

2. This card comes with 100,000 bonus AMEX gateway points (or 110,000 bonus AMEX gateway points if you use my referral). Here are some examples of what it can be used for:

- $741 in balance credit to offset your spendings (the conversion rate is $7.41 per 1000 points)
- One way flight to South China, Hong Kong or Taiwan from Sydney on Singapore Business/Suite Class plus tax (62,333/85,000 AMEX Gateway points respectively)
- One way flight to Japan/Korea from Sydney on Singapore Business plus tax (87,833 AMEX Gateway points)

- Point cost of other destinations can be determined for KrisFlyer by multiplying the Krisflyer points required by 0.85 times 4/3 here. For example, if you need to travel from Sydney to Tokyo in business, the requirement is 77,500 KrisFlyer points. Multiply this by 0.85 and 4/3 (i.e. 77,500 times 0.85 times 4/3) and you'll get 87,333 which is the amount of AMEX Gateway points required.

This list can be found here https://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/ppsclub_krisflyer/charts/SQMI_OneWayAwardCharts.pdf

Key Takeout
The bonus points are worth at least $741 dollars when offsetting normal spending. When used for flights, this could be in the thousands, especially when used for Singapore Business/Suite.

3. Effectively up to 1.5 frequent flyer points per dollar spending for Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Emirates Skywards, Etihad Guest, Malaysian Airlines Enrich, Singapore KrisFlyer, Thai Royal Orchard Plus and Virgin Australia.

Key Takeout
For KrisFlyer and many other airlines, this is one of the best point earning card for general purchases.

Other Perks

- Two entries per year to the American Express Lounge

- Smart Screen Insurance

Here is my referral code again if you missed it. :)

This card is great for SPG/marriott points. Signon bonus will be equivalent to 55000 SPG points or 165000 Mariott Points. Great for hotel stays or transferring to numerous SPG partners. Great transfer option from Marriott to united or american airlines currently with 25%/20% bonus respectively(especially if you use travel packages- 7 night hotel stay+ airline points). As a referrer I will receive 20000 points.

Ive been churning these amex cards for quite some time now, so PM if you need any help :)

Thanks to the person who used my referral link as 20000 points seem to have hit my account today. SPG is good way to consolidate points between various family members as they allow easy transfer between family members living at same address.

Hi guys,

Just adding my referral link to the mix. http://amex.com.au/refer/Qu1ZI

I recently got the Explorer as my first awards card and considering that I easily spend $400 on travel each year, the travel credit essentially makes this a free high earning awards card for me. Add to that the included insurances, and the equivalent of 1.5 mile/dollar spent on most FFPs and it's a great card.

I use it in combination with the Platinum Edge which will get 2 miles/dollar on fuel and 3 miles/dollar on grocery spend. Its annual fee ($195) includes a free return domestic flight with Virgin Australia which again (for me) makes it essentially a free high earning awards card.

Feel free to use my referral link- it will generate 110,000 Gateway points for you, and 20,000 points for me (much appreciated).

Please feel free to ask me any questions.

I am doing very well with the myriad of statement credits. This past month I got a 100$ credit for an Accor hotel stay and I have a Marriott and Hilton queued up. Lots of value to be had to offset the 400$ fee!

You will receive 110,000 Membership Rewards points if you apply by 30 January 2017, are approved for a American Express Explorer? Credit Card, and spend $1,500 in their first 3 months of Card Membership. I get a 20,000 point referral bonus.
