AMEX Velocity Platinum - 80,000 + free DOM Flight $349

Recently found this card and used it to top up my account, normal non-referral offer is 50,000 bonus.

Might be useful for someone here. Good value for a Y1 churn card.

AMEX Velocity Platinum 80K Velocity Points Referral

Hey guys and girls,

Here is my referral link to get 80K Velocity Points with the AMEX Velocity Platinum card, I of course will get 20K in return for your sign up.
Great card, good earn rates, free flight, free travel insurance and a couple of lounge passes to boot. Also gives you access to the world of Amex offers, with offers at the moment like $10 credit on a $30 spend at Woolies.

Many thanks :)

Velocity Amex – 80,000 points, return free flight, lounge passes, travel insurance

Yes, here is another referral link but rather than just posting a link I've taken some time to actually explain some of the features of this brilliant card. Please support a long-time very active member of this forum rather than someone who signs up just to post a referral link!

Here is my referral link for the Velocity Amex – https://www316.americanexpress.com/...B762B8774&mgmerSource&MGMURN=AAAABgQPHBATAg==

With this card you will receive:

1. 80,000 Velocity points after spending just $500 (must use referral link otherwise you only receive 50,000 points). I receive 20,000 points for referring you. During Velocity’s regular 15% off award seats discount promotion, these 80,000 points are enough for a one-way Business Class ticket from Sydney or Brisbane to Los Angeles plus a small fees and taxes payment of about $100. That’s about $3,000 of value right there. Even redeeming for domestic economy flights you should be able to get close to $1,000 value depending on how you use them.

2. A free domestic return flight with Virgin Australia to selected cities, now and every year after your first Card spend – the list of available routes for using the free flight is here - AMXACQ1994_FlightMap_v4 Again, several hundred dollars value. The flights can be booked easily through Amex travel and availability is good.

3. Two free Single Entry passes to the Virgin Australia lounge each year. May not be useful for SG and WP members, but $130 value to others.

4. Domestic and International Travel Insurance when you pay for eligible travel on your Card.

5. Travel Inconvenience Insurance will cover you for flight delays, missed connections or delayed luggage.

6. 3 points per dollar spent with Virgin Australia and tens of thousands of restaurants in Australia, with 2 points per dollar spent with other airlines, accommodation, major cruise and tour operators paid directly or through travel agencies as well as spend in foreign currency when overseas and online.

7. Discounted business class travel when you fly with a friend to selected Virgin Australia international long haul destinations, including flights to Europe and the US that codeshare with Etihad or Delta.

This is the best Velocity credit card offer I have ever seen (and I've had lots of Velocity cards!) and certainly the highest sign on bonus for any Velocity card especially as you only need to spend $500 to get those bonus points (versus much higher minimum spend requirements for less points with other cards) plus a lot of other features. With all the benefits you should easily be able to obtain over $1,000 of value from this card in the first year alone. There is a $349 annual fee which I think is very fair given the benefits of the card.

Offer ends 31 July 2015.
I love this card and hope you will too – I appreciate your support!

Oops - I forgot about the annual fee - its $349 - I've edited my post above. Thanks

ATO spend is definitely allowed on the card and earns 0.5 pp $ spent.
