How militant are AMEX on the 12 month cooling off period? I had a Platinum Edge card I cancelled last September.

Very lax from my experience. I've had both at the same time, and got the bonus'. YMMV

Like others have said, the majority of ex+current AMEX cardholders have received their points. You must have very bad lucky or have set off some red flags on their end for them not to credit you the bonus points.

Can't believe there are still people signing up to this card. The large sign on bonus has been up for grabs for just under a year.

Anywho, here's my link for the referral for anyone interested.

I was holding a QF Premium card when I applied for this card and still got the bonus points. When I applied I said I didn't have any other AMEX cards and set up a new login when activating the new card. Met the spend in the first month and points credit before I knew i =)

Kinda surprised, but good on ya..
So have you paid 2 lots of annual fees? - or was the other card near the end of it's fee year?

Figured add my referral
current offer 80,000 points (50000 +30000 with referral) spend $500 on card in the first three months, out of the deal I also get 20,000 points.

In addition to the standard perks with card, points earned, domestic flight, lounge access, insurance etc. In the less than a year I've had the card there has been one additional points bonus offer (Not sure how often this happens).
A couple of months ago if you put at least five transactions on your card of any amount (with no minimum spend) over the course of two months you received additional 3,000 bonus Velocity points.

Thanks

I'm another lucky current AMEX person who took the plunge and applied for this card and still got the bonus points (wish I'd known about this a few years ago, would have stopped me from applying for other lesser cards, and would have just focussed on a couple of AMEX a year).

I am saving up for a special Singapore Airlines Suites experience, so any referral love (still gets you 80,000 bonus points) appreciated :)

So has the referral points jumped significantly? Referrers earn 60k points per application and the referee earns 100k points? Can someone confirm this?

Here's my referral link for those who want/need an extra 100k points:

I'd be so happy with an extra 60k points :D

Wow 60k points is a lot for a referral.

Is that 200k cap in July or for the whole year?

Here's what it says in the terms and conditions. Looks like it's a very very generous Additional 200k points on offer.

  • Cap Referrals: .......The amount of Velocity Points you may receive under the 'Refer a Friend' program for this 60,000 Velocity Points offer is capped at 200,000 points for referrals made between 1 July 2016 to 31 July 2016. This cap is in addition to the 200,000 point cap you receive for the year under the 'Refer a Friend' program.

I applied this card via AFF back in August last year and I must say this card has pretty good benefits (4 lounge passes; 2 x AMEX Sydney lounge pass + 2 X Virgin Australia). The bonus points is good to redeem for Krisflyer First Class Suites. If anyone would like to use my referral link, here it is below.

Finally I'm here long enough to post in this thread. I just wanted to thank the person who I used the referral code (it might be Blackswan, I found 2 codes in my history and can't work out which one I applied with). Oops. Anyway, thanks so much for your referral and I got the points pretty quickly. I was a little concerned since I just recently applied for an Amex Edge as well but it seems to not bother Amex at all. :)
