Exactly what I said! So you will pay a foreign exchange fee anyway, whether that is from your AUD bank (who will charge you to exchange) or whether by QantasCash.

For new readers to this thread, it's worth trying to spell this out. The only way to avoid getting clobbered with a 3% charge for "changing currency" is to load your QantasCash card with AUD and spend it in AUD. If you do anything else (like loading AUD and then going overseas and spending say...

3% "foreign" exchange fee kills it for me. "Whenever a transaction in Qantas Cash results in a foreign exchange...." There are so many ways to avoid this now - makes you wonder why they bother - so we can all get FFPs? Yeah, right.

I found the F lounge at KLIA rather tedious too had to ask every time I wanted to top up my red. In a country where alcohol is not the norm that makes you feel like a naughty schoolboy. At least in the business lounge they let you help yourself.....

Looking at flying Syd-Kul-Syd in 2 months. V good fares available right now. It looks even better with the QF offer to get double points for this (between 15th Feb and 15th Apr) now that MH is part of OW.

There are three "qantas" lounges at HK airport. the Wing, the Pier and the Cabin. Depending on your departure gate, you should aim to get to the nearest one. Worth checking out the Cathay website Even better is if you can get into 1st class. HK has perhaps the best 1st class lounges around...

Have just been credited my first 7500 points and am looking to get the last 2500 for the 'first qantas spend'. Couldn't see a lego toy for $10.95, although there is a lego plane for $17.99, which I presume will be enough for the 2.5k? Also noticed a $6.95 toy glider plane, would that do the job...

Just some additional info on SQ redemption booking waitlists. Had wife plus 2 offspring waitlisted for 5 months earlier this year on SYD->LHR. Class was discount economy. The whole trip fell through and got cancelled 4 weeks before they were due to fly. Ruins ones plans. Have learnt my lesson...
