SQ PPS - worth it ?

Having been PPS for 4 years now, I must in all honesty say that is really not worth much at all. Pretty well all the documented "benefits" are just things you get anyway by flying J or F. The only real tangible benefits I can see are: - extended seat selection availibility...in J you can get the...

    China Visit - who’s betting?

Sorry I couldn't make it...was still feeling a bit iffy and didn't want to inflict myself on others. If when there is a next one I will make an extra effort to turn up...with no travel in the near future my budget is in terrific state...

    China Visit - who’s betting?

I could easily be tempted, if you don't mind being regaled with a litany of my miseries over the last month or so..will confirm tomorrow.

    SilverKris Lounge changi

Here I am again in the SIN T2 lounge (actually departing SQ 237 from T3) and again it is much quieter than the T3 lounge usually is at this time, maybe a bit over half full.

    Weird e-mail from Amex

I have just received this apparently from Amex: HUH??? Maybe the work experience kids have moved on from Qantas? That number bears no resemblance to anything remotely obvious. And I didn't know my surname is apparently a date...

    SilverKris Lounge changi

I am in the SIN T2 SKL right now, and it is very quiet; maybe 25% full. This is a pleasant contrast to the T3 SKL which tends to be an overcrowded zoo most of the time IME. In my view, SIN T3 is far too big for a single SKL to be adequate;l it really needs multiple smaller lounges, a la CX at HKG.

Qantas and RSA in J International what is the Go?

Wine is, and always has been IIRC, self-serve in domestic lounges.

2-factor login: delay receiving SMS when logging in from home PC

This unfortunately appears to be a fairly common problem; I have experienced it myself several times. It is very intermittent and there seems to be no obvious cause. It also occurs sometimes on other websites using 2FA vis SMS. I have queried the phone company but they plead ignorance.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

QF29 did indeed depart about 30 mins late (plane did not arrive at the gate until about 9am); However we were blessed with a very quick flight time and arrived in HKG 20 mins early.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

I notice that QF29 (MEL-HKG 789) was delayed from 0935 to 1137 this morning; expected arrival is ~90 mins late. Hope it is more punctual tomorrow when I am on it..

    QF CSM Gifting Wine

Some years ago, in QF international Y, I was given a bottle of Piper-Heidsieck as a sweetener after an FA accidentally spilled some tea on me. Was just before Xmas, and went down very well!

Should I stay or should I go - Hong Kong [protests]

Actually, the UK had possession of Hong Kong island and Kpwloon for all time; it was only the New Territories that were subject to the lease that expired in 1997. And the way thay initially acquired the first two was extremely nasty; do some research on "the opium wars".

Hi Does anyone know how many Qantas platinum frequent flyers there are?

If there were 250K Plats, then non-elites would be the rare exception on most flights! This number would probably be a fair estimate for all elites in total.

Should I stay or should I go - Hong Kong [protests]

Well, finally ventured out to see what is happening: it is all a bit surreal, Nathan Rd is blocked off as far as the eye can see and has become a vast pedestrian walkway, as have quite a few other major roads: this seems to mainly be a result of junk on the roads. There are still quite a few...

Should I stay or should I go - Hong Kong [protests]

Looking out my window, there seem to be a lot of very strange things going on, and a lot of shouting/chanting in the distance; however I don't think it would be wise to investigate further right now!

Should I stay or should I go - Hong Kong [protests]

Well, here I am in HK (got here last Thursday), and I must say mostly it has been pretty quite and uneventful. Until this afternoon... I got the MTR from Central-> Jordan about 1:30pm. To my surprise the train did not stop at TST, but went straight to Jordan; when I arrived there, the exit I...
