    Virgin priority boarding fail

At Hobart it's a bit ofa lottery these days ..

Another question about Family Pooling ....

Looks like you've got it nailed! Except for the Scoot flights! Did no-one warn you that Scoot falls within the definition of "cruel and unusual punishment." 😉

Another question about Family Pooling ....

John - If it helps, I keep a spreadsheet of all our bookings, SCs and sectors, with various permutations of how we can implement family pooling to get the best outcome. It might sound like overkill, but it really helps. It's enabled us over the last couple of years to "thread the needle" for...

Another question about Family Pooling ....

I've always found that for Gold unless you build up your SCs from partner airline flights without a VA flight number, then the eligible sectors takes care of themselves. Even for platinum I've not found it a problem.

Another question about Family Pooling ....

Thanks that is helpful. We actually would probably turn family pooling off after the flights I mentioned as our objectives would have been achieved.... I don't see that as a problem though.

Another question about Family Pooling ....

I'll try to keep this simple. I have a fair number of status credits (easily exceeding the requirement to keep platinum) for our current "Velocity year." My partner has none. We have a number of flights coming up together. If before these we take out family pooling with myself as the...

    Transit thru Changi

Thanks, that is REALLY REALLY helpful! And yes, I've noticed the Scoot trap and will do my best to avoid it!

    Transit thru Changi

Sorry, yes, good point. I put it here because the itinerary starts and ends with domestic VA flights, but should have thought a bit more. Sorry.

    Transit thru Changi

    Thanks: SA web site.

    Transit thru Changi

Making it a multi-city booking works well ... gives me an option for 3 hours 20 min at Chiangi. Is there any disadvantage in making it a multi-city booking? For example, would I have to go out thru immigration and come back in again at Chiangi?

    Transit thru Changi

John and HS-TQE: Thanks, I'll try entering a multi-flight booking and see if that helps. Even if protected by being on the same ticket, it would still be more than inconvenient to miss a connection.

    Transit thru Changi

Thanks John, I was thinking along similar lines. Trouble is, none of the options taht the SA website throw up are that long.

    Transit thru Changi

I guess this is a bit of a "how long is a piece of string?" question, but what would be a sensible minimum transit time to allow in a booking with SA that means transiting thru Chiangi airport. Both flights will be with SA. In answering, please keep in mind that I am somewhat neurotic and was...

    Privileges with partner airlines

Oh thanks! I missed that page in the Velocity web site

    Privileges with partner airlines

Excuse the question, relatively new to Virgin and planning our first flights with partner airlines (Singapore). Am I right that I get velocity points, status etc and as platinum we get lounge access but not priority check in and priority baggage? No biggie, just like to know. Thanks!

    VA, Singapore Airlines and Scoot

Thanks ... it's more the SCs important to me than the points, but I guess similar reasoning applies.

    VA, Singapore Airlines and Scoot

Ingenious, thank you! The problem then would be that the KF account would apply to all SQ flights and I'd be worse off! Most likely I'll carve out an equivalent itinerary that avoids Scoot. By going a tad earlier or later I should be able to use SQ only.

    VA, Singapore Airlines and Scoot

    VA, Singapore Airlines and Scoot

I suspect the answer to both these questions is "No" but seeing as I can't find a definitive answer on either the Velocity or SQ web sites, here goes ... I'm looking at booking a possible itinerary on Singapore Airlines, putting my Velocity number on the booking. This itinerary would include a...
