For what it’s worth even when I’m on a paid J ticket (LAX to Syd), I always transit back to LA from the east coast and spend a night just in case as I’ve seen so many delays and missed connections
Totally agree. BA used to have the Concorde Room Card if reached a certain threshold well above their Gold tier.
Maybe Qantas should issue a CL card if you hit 7,000 or some higher threshold of SCs?
Totally agree, I used to fly largely domestic and platinum didn’t seem to make a difference.
- J lounge vs QP: Marginally better slop
- No difference in priority boarding
- Seat selection similar to SG unless you're P1
But now that I travel internationally
- F lounge vs J L lounge: Sheep...
There was an investor presentation when Joyce first joined Qantas which indicated the number of CL were capped at 7,000 (or 14,000 including partner CLs). If P1s are 10,000 then one would assume 24,000. (c. 0.2%)
While I think the comparison between an international J lounge and the QF domestic J lounge is silly. The issue is there isn’t a direct comparison; most European airlines (like BA) are primarily international airlines (albeit with many short haul routes akin to Aust domestic routes). In the US...
Did you try to and/or make changes to the booking beforehand? There are numerous examples of qantas staff accidentally cancelling award seats inadvertently

It’s a pity there isn’t a QF F lounge in LHR as it’s a premium part of their...
Totally agree. Was in the LHR lounge as WP no champagne, so had my S&P squid and went to the Cathay F lounge and spent the rest of the time there. The combined lounges are a huge degradation of the WP benefits
Totally agree! We have a vaccine and the whole suppression strategy was designed to buy time for a vaccine (albeit with varying effectiveness based on variants or people’s medical history).
What we have is doomsday warriors who seem addicted to the Covid hysteria baying for stricter...
