    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I updated the numbers and categories/examples since they weren't very clear yesterday. Essentially if you're spending heaps on bonus categories (I would assume many AFF members fall into this category) or foreign spend then it's worthwhile spending directly on US cards. For all general AUD...

Credit Card Offers Amex Platinum Card Benefits, Offers & Discussion

I'm not sure if anyone is aware of this but as part of Accor Plus (which you get from Amex Plat), there are a bunch of discounts (e.g. EuropCar/Hertz/Avis) outside of the standard plat discounts. https://all.accor.com/loyalty-program/partners/mobility/index.en.shtml Australian Plat Card...

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I haven't been following it closely but I believe it's about 1% from spot from a few DPs earlier on by Levelnine and Finale (I think...)

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Indeed but based on recent DPs, retention bonuses seem to be all over the place. Last year, I spent <30K but got a 40 or 50K retention bonus so who knows!

I believe there's also a special menu with 2 additional items for that area? Not to mention additional selection of wine from time to time.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

If we take fees into account: 2% (1% for Amex FX and 1% for Wise): $100,000 AUD on a x3 category (Direct Spend on US Amex) = 65,000 USD = 195,000 US MR/Aeroplan Points. $100,000 + 2% = $102,000 AUD for 195,000 US MR/Aeroplan Points. $100,000 AUD on general spend (Direct Spend on US Amex) =...

Best Car rental for Personal Amex Platinum

I was going to make a post about this shortly but you have a look at the benefits Accor Plus has via your Plat card. Accor Plus grants you a wide range of statuses/benefits that you might find useful. E.g. Accor Plus gets you 20% of rates via EuropCar so check them out.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Amex suggests otherwise :( Edit: Ended up calling amex to get the new metal card delivered to Aus. Rep seemed a bit suspicious and reluctant or perhaps they just thought it was strange to change the design of the card?

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

I was hoping to have it expedited to my US address so I can consolidate it with some other items but it looks like they'll only ship it via USPS First Class Mail. I definitely don't want to risk it!

Thanks... Might go down this path as well. I too am a sucker for metal cards :D. Does anyone have any ideas whether this might impact addresses being reported to agencies?
