    SQ J - Cheap fares ex Japan Feb/Mar 25

Departing Tokyo it could also be the regional J seats, certainly my flight SQ633 back in May was. I prefer this seat to the long haul version though. I paid 154K Yen for the one way ticket.

    Upgrade excitement

This was 10+ years ago. Got invited to pay for Y-J one way MEL-SIN for something like $200. Not free but close. It was a few days before the flight at home, so no one saw my excitement!

The Dark side of Japan Tourism.

I always know as a foreigner one should try the very best not to be on the wrong side of law in Japan, including driving. But reading this is still horrifying 😨 @drron, I hope you will get some outcome in pursuing this. However slim the chance might be ...

Checking in to a hotel at a self-service kiosk?

Interesting, I also had some bad service in one of them.... Not that I'm particularly interested in going back to any Sotetsu Inn anyways. Nowadays I'm mostly Dormy Inn, and maybe Mitsui Garden, yeah I want that big public bath!

Checking in to a hotel at a self-service kiosk?

In Japan it largely depends on what kind of hotels you stay at. Business hotels, yes the kiosk has been the norm for quite some time now. But most would still do human check in if you insist - I've been told Toyoko Inn would be a no but haven't stayed there! Ryokan or luxury hotels? Now if they...

    China Airlines business class?

Lots of hotels around the airport but only the Novotel is directly connected. Depends on your budget. I'd stay in Novotel and take the Taoyuan express to Taipei city, lots of things to do there! And great food. National Palace Museum is fantastic if you like history...or Taipei 101 for the view...

    SQ Business Class Question

The "have more time to sleep" notion goes out of the window when they insist on waking you up 2 hours before landing for breakfast....

    SQ Y vs ScootPlus

I've done Scoot Plus NRT-SIN, it was a seven hour day flight and I found it quite okay. Certainly better than any Y imho. Note: there's also priority check in and boarding. Bargain Cathay Pacific Premium Economy

I flew CX PE twice before, one was on a 350-10K (new seats), 3 hour flight. It was really good imho. Another time was the old seats, MEL - NRT return. I slept kinda okay? Note this was many years ago....I used to be able to sleep on anything 🤣

    The Japan Trusted Traveler Program

Yeah I think the main issue for a lot of people is probably gonna be the tax refunds. I don't buy that much, also mostly would probably be in major department stores in Tokyo so hopefully less problematic. Also heard about the Donki thing, luckily I don't normally shop there, at least not for...

    The Japan Trusted Traveler Program

In theory yes. In reality who wants to carry big cases walking from Keisei Ueno to Metro Ginza line station instead of taking a 20 mins slower but direct train? I am not in the amazing race... Thought there are some tricks that I didn't know, guess not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    The Japan Trusted Traveler Program

Ginza is not Tokyo. As in, Tokyo Station. I'd like to know what train takes only one hour, would be very helpful for my next trip!
