Tonight‘s QF15 BNE to LAX apparently cancelled around 30mins ago, and ppl auto-rebooked in 4 days time without any other option in the app. If these allegations are true, chapeau Qantas…

1) I guess this was too short notice to sell a few tickets and all the related bureaucracy? 2) Theoretically, could they have flown directly SYD - LHR with the empty A380 as they did before but I think in the other direction?

Yes, loaded now in FR24 also as ASY1168 departing London at 7am, arriving in Tel Aviv at 1330 local time. VH-ZNN operating the leg. Interesting flight number using RAAF call sign. I assume they would have a few pilots on board, probably very senior and experienced ones with RAAF background?

As I said above, it took me one call, and it was fixed in less than 12 hours incl. a helpful call-back!

While the AUS to SIN routes are already in disarray due to yesterday’s QF1 cancellation, QF81 did a stop over on Darwin today, and is now expected to arrive 2 hours late in SIN. Maybe a crew pick-up to sort out the mess in Singapore?
