Qantas Delays/Cancellations

And tomorrow's (Sunday 01 October) QF82, which was supposed to leave at 8.30pm, has been pushed back by more than 12 hours to 9am on Monday morning. Not sure why as the aircraft arrived into Singapore this evening and would have had a more than 24 hour layover.
Probably crew rest requirements rather than aircraft related. Yesterday’s QF1 delay will mean they have they a crew out of position. The crew due to operate tonight’s QF2 were probably the crew who were delayed 24 hours on QF1

QF3 is delayed 5 hours, which will also impact the return QF4 as there is insufficient turnaround time at JFK to absorb that delay.

While the AUS to SIN routes are already in disarray due to yesterday’s QF1 cancellation, QF81 did a stop over on Darwin today, and is now expected to arrive 2 hours late in SIN. Maybe a crew pick-up to sort out the mess in Singapore?

VH-VZX?
It arrived into AKL 2 hours late last night.

Oddly, Google is (currently) claiming QF152 has left AKL and is delayed due to a runway delay.
Well left on qf4 as 152 still cactus. Apparently need spare part from oz?

My TripIt kept telling me in flight and delay!!

According to the VIP team it will stay open. Also jyst been advised my seat has changed as 1A is broken apparently on VH ZNK

Passengers on VH-ZND (Yam Dreaming) have had an interesting time recently.

Friends were booked on QF35 (MEL-SIN) yesterday (Thursday 12 Oct) with connection to LHR via QF1 from Singapore.
Thankfully they were advised Wednesday evening their flight would be delayed from 1300 to 1900, with additional advice they would be staying in Singapore for 24 hours as they would miss their connection to QF1.
VH-ZND had operated QF35 the previous day arriving SIN close to the scheduled 1800, but for reason unknown QF36 back to MEL missed its 2015 departure and instead set off at 0830 next morning.
It arrived MEL just after 1800, when QF was still advising a 1900 departure for Singapore. Somewhat optimistic.
Anyway, QF 35 finally departed MEL 2020 and arrived Singapore 0030.
At least QF were well prepared to look after the affected passengers with hotel and meal vouchers etc, so my friends seem philosophical.

In meantime, VH-ZND collected the QF36 passengers who were delayed from 2015 (Thursday night) to 0220 and headed for Melbourne arriving 5+ hours later than planned just after noon.
Yam Dreaming then departed on time at 1620 as QF 9 to Perth and London, the irony being it should arrive in London before my friends on tonights QF1.

Tonight‘s QF15 BNE to LAX apparently cancelled around 30mins ago, and ppl auto-rebooked in 4 days time without any other option in the app. If these allegations are true, chapeau Qantas…

This is where consumers need EU/UK type protection, airlines wont change by their own good will

If true, that's very odd considering the QF15 in the next two days are not even full (in economy anyway).

They are chock-a-block in Business however...
