I should know this . The purchase of a gift card does not earn EDR points but use of the gift card at a site that offers EDR points is treated the same as if using say cash. eg using a BWS gift card - do you get bonus points if offered by using this card at BWS Thank you

Not sure. I have had a successful request for a release earlier this year and that seat held for 4 days as i was hoping for another flight to be released in the next few days . Maybe you could ask the agent to put on hold a successful request to give you time to transfer the points across .
