    Is $2.4K one-way good for London-Sydney in CI A350 J?

Have you looked at flying out of OSL or ARN? You can generally get Qatar or BA / Cathay (via LHR) for less than $2.5k one way? I'd prefer to fly them than CI personally..

Flight delayed out of JFK, will miss connection at LAX.

You've already answered your own question. Sydney may have more demand but it also has more capacity to cater for this demand, not to mention the extra competition. Adding extra capacity to an already saturated market can be very detrimental to yields, particularly if the competition react...

    Warning: Jetstar seat selection fees

i think some are missing the point. Row 26 is an Upfront Row and costs the same to book as Row 10 - it's not a normal seat. Are you sure they didn't originally deny a refund because you were "technically" (I know leg room is very different) still in an upfront seat? I had had similar on an...

    Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

Tiger just announced that they have cancelled all flights to Bali permanently. Pretty big news. I wonder if VA will take over?

    Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

No they haven't. TT still haven't got AOC approval for the 737s, that was the cause of all of their cancellations over Xmas on the domestic network.

Looking at flying MEL-SIN on Jetstar in 'J' Am I crazy?

The seat has the same recline as QF Prem Econ, no it's not ideal for sleeping but to say it hardly reclines is not true. If you can nab Row 1 that's the best row so no one reclines into you. I've flown it well over ten times now, as it's a good compromise for a little bit more comfort than Y...

    Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

Why didn't they just fly the A320s originally then, if it was easier and quicker? Tiger have taken all DPS flights off sale until the 25th March. The right thing to do by consumers.

    QF2 Passengers Stranded in Dubai

Emirates are known for overbooking their planes, so it doesn't surprise me at all that they didn't have any spare seats.. This is the peak-est time of year, I've heard horror stories of staff travellers being stuck in Dubai for days because there are no seats to Australia (via Asia or direct)...

Is the "Fly Ahead" benefit removal actually being enforced?

Not quite, the Fly Ahead benefit directly impacts fare revenue. When a passenger is purchasing a really cheap fare on the 9pm service instead of spending more $$ on the 9am service.. That's an issue for any airline.

    Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

Looks like Tiger did a good job of moving passengers onto other services, but flights were definitely cancelled. On some days it looks like half the usual services are running. Cancelling 50% of your flights is a huge deal, especially because Christmas is the airlines busiest and most...

    Qantas Call Centre

Is the Frequent Flyer email for Qantas answered by Call Centre staff? Is that why the response times have blown out for the email as well? I sent through my boarding pass for an Air Berlin flight (booked in Y), it took them a week to respond to say the fare wasn't eligible - the website says...

Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's? I booked a JASA MEL - BNE - MEL on Tuesday, and got told that I had to book one of the legs as a commercial fare as well. I had no idea what that meant and just told the lady that I believed that was incorrect. She put...

Bags tagged through? (QF --> AA separate tickets)

Just thought I'd let everyone know that my upgrade went through.. Now a different issue.. The Qantas check in guy didn't check my bags all the way through to Miami (yes different tickets but still with AA and I gave him my confirmation email) didnt realise I didn't have two boarding passes...

Upgrade Priority. Staff vs. Paying Passenger

Thanks everyone for your responses, really interesting reading the varied opinions. Just to clarify my friend doesn't work for QANTAS. He receives the benefit because of a friend who works for Qantas.. So he doesn't really know how the upgrade process works behind the scenes.

Upgrade Priority. Staff vs. Paying Passenger

Thanks for your quick responses! I always thought passengers had priority, but my friend seemed to think staff did.. Maybe it depends on the type of staff travel, whether they're on duty or just on holidays.

Upgrade Priority. Staff vs. Paying Passenger

Hi everyone, first post but a long time reader of AFF. I'm flying to LAX later this week and have put in my upgrade request from PE to J. I have a friend who is able to check flight loadings via the Qantas Staff log in, and apparently there are 7 J seats available at the moment, but 9 staff...
