ACCC pressures Virgin to lift travel credit expiry [update - Virgin forced to extend]

I don’t disagree with you but I think they’ve run the ruler over it in a meeting dominated by Bain bean counters and said nope no way and we can weather the brand damage for $300 million thanks very much!

VA2 staff tip disabled doctor out of wheelchair, triggering investigation

I think this is the pertinent point - on the news the family claim they were ignored (in fact, spoken down to) by the Virgin staff members when they asked them to stop. I suspect this Virgin staff member(s) will be out of a job soon if not already. They are extremely lucky the person was not...

    Sydney Airport- A National Disgrace

Death match - Melbourne T4/3 (really just one now) v Sydney T2. Both awful in very different ways.

ACCC pressures Virgin to lift travel credit expiry [update - Virgin forced to extend]

$300 million… 😉 Which is precisely why it’s not being given back. It was a real mess of time, agreed. Personally I feel most sorry for the staff. Many of those who are left are still having a rough time.

Virgin Australia and passenger slammed over in-flight business class act

Well, what kind of food are you thinking of passing forward is the question 😉

ING Bank Dropping 5 ATM Operator Fee Rebate Benefit from 1/8/23

That’s interesting to note, not that I use cash overseas much these days. I also love Macquaries app. Extremely good UI and they are always adding features.

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Well yes, I’m just polite. Not saying it’s easy of course it’s a killer of a game but there have been some own goals that’s for sure - they probably could have positioned a lot more aggressively to take advantage of some of the competitions troubles but all data indicates that hasn’t been the...

Weight-loss drugs predicted to save airlines millions

Reviewing some clinicals around Ozempic and similars of the world - looks like after a couple of years most people discontinue use and on average about 75% of the weight comes back (this is the non diabetic population mind you). So the airlines hoping to save millions might be 75% off on their...

    Virgin Australia Wifi not connecting

Not working on my flight last night despite announcements to the contrary. Then about 40 mins into the flight another announcement that it was ‘experiencing some difficulty due to weather’. Now that’s a new one?! Maybe the copper line trailing behind the aircraft connecting it to the...

How does Marriott treat you as an elite?

Didn’t want to start a new thread so just quickly does anyone have an email address for Le Meridien Melbourne by chance? Staying there in a few weeks have a question for them. Thanks.

Virgin Australia and passenger slammed over in-flight business class act

Don’t worry the Mad Cow is still not around to attack everyone with their BSE 😂 On a slightly related note I saw people wearing flip flops being declined entry into an airline lounge this week! The controversy reigns on!

Two VA2 aircraft pulled from flying due to unauthorised engine parts

I’m pretty sure one of them at least is back in service. I don’t think the ongoing high cancellations are due to these maintenance issues though, more so the staffing and general operational issues at Virgin that are ongoing.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

Sure thing… Maybe Virgin and Rex could also have wet-leased some widebodies for the weekend? Bonza could have even grabbed a couple of Flairs planes for the occasion. The Australian government could even run some Army heavies up and down the ESB.

Virgin Australia and passenger slammed over in-flight business class act

I thought you were going to post “coffee” or maybe some “hummus” or something ;) But we haven’t had a serious answer yet to the question up thread as to whether Virgin actually requires or not people to wear shoes on their planes?
