Trigger warning - this is gross and for people who don’t like other people’s feet, move on!

I would have probably lost it too and unlike this passenger I would have got the staff to do something about it….

Virgin Australia and passenger slammed over in-flight business class act

A Melbourne woman has slammed Virgin Australia and a fellow business class passenger who failed to toe the line on board a flight from Canberra to Melbourne earlier this month.

Samantha Martinovic was celebrating the birthday of her mother, Nadia, by flying business class together for the first time — but when a bare foot snaked through the gap between their seats, the pair were mortified.

“The lady behind me put her bare foot through the seat gap and touched me and my mum’s arm,” she told 7NEWS.com.au.

Exactly ... after first reading the article I reread it a couple of times, then checked the link url, thinking it may have been from the Beetoota Advocate.

... said she was toey about a tangle with the barefoot traveller, and remained silent on the flight because of “severe anxiety” and a desire to avoid confrontation on her mother’s birthday.

“I was hoping a flight attendant would have told her to put her shoes on and (feet) on the ground, but they didn’t,”
...
Virgin Australia told 7NEWS.com.au that unless an issue is raised with staff, the airline cannot guarantee its employees will be able to identify when something is wrong and resolve it

I thought it was gross / hilarious.

What kind of person thinks it is ok to take off shoes and put bare feet on someone else’s seat. And in business class!

I mean economy on VA2 it’s perfectly acceptable right 😉

I don't understand this. Why not just ask politely for the person to move their foot? That's too confrontational but going to the media isn't? She claims the person moved their foot after a minute anyway. Move on with it already if you choose not to say something. That's YOUR decision.

Just to be crystal clear. I don't think what the barefooted passenger did is in anyway acceptable.

Growl like a dog, turn around, go mental, let the culprit have a serve, and let the crew call AFP, and you get taken off the plane, you would be first off on landing.
Win, win.
DYKWIA for sure.

If someone touched me like this on a plane, I would politely ask them to not, then if it persisted I would have flagged with the FAs…

Barefeet on planes is one of my pet hates though and regardless should not be allowed - I’m a little surprised it is?

Thinking deeply on this 😉

I actually think I would probably ask the FA to intervene. People are so volatile these days… you just never know what reaction you will get…
I’m the kind of person who would ‘accidentally spill’ some water on the foot, just to see what kind of reaction would develop. 😁

And with a free guarantee you would never have to fly that airline again 😜
Rex is supposedly starting ifs FF program soon.
Or what, mew like a cat, turn around at the culprit, and mew again?
Actually, I do wonder what would happen if we act mentally disabled (NOT PC)... when something like this happens, or if a person paints their nails at 10000m/39000ft.

Oh, hello, Mr Foot, how are you today?
And how do you find flying this bumpy flight?

I thought you were going to post “coffee” or maybe some “hummus” or something ;)

But we haven’t had a serious answer yet to the question up thread as to whether Virgin actually requires or not people to wear shoes on their planes?

If you want to find out, how about calling Virgin, asking, and then letting us know?
No need; see section 15:

(g) behave in a way which does not disturb or cause offence to your fellow passengers;
I would consider the action described as disturbing/offensive.
