Ha! We did that 5km walk with (almost) gale force winds!! We were covered head to toe in dessert sand....2 days later I was still blowing sand out of my nose, and it was days before my ears were free of sand! We got great shots of the dunes with the shadows and the dead trees at Deadvlei. It...

We did the Sandwich Harbour Tour with Morney. The Delight hotel was a delight! They serve oysters for bfast which I should have avoided before The Living Desert Tour! We had dinner at The Tug as recommended by our guide.

Sept should be fine. I personally thought Chobe Nat Park and Okavango River / Delta were more interesting than Etosha National Park. Make sure you do a heli ride over the Delta....we paid US$215 per person for 30 mins which I thought was reasonable :)

    Namibia

We spent a total of 8 nights in Namibia. I agree the hours and hours of gravel pot holed roads are not great esp if you are self drving...unless you are quick and adept at changing tyres. If I ever go back, I still wouldn't self drive even though +1 wants to! If you need a physical Sim card...

    SQ to operate into WSI

WSI is 62 km from my house and will cost over $23 in road tolls and take more than 1 hour drive from my house. I think I will stick with Syd airport for my flights ;)

@bPeteb has done an excellent job summarising the trip we also did with the same company but in reverse order from Windhoek to Vic Falls...we did not go to Cape Town where we have been before. It was a great trip and we covered > 3000kms in 14 days and his was 19 days so he would have travelled...
