I thought that there already is a $20 fee?Yes indeed. But apart from the minor cost, it won't have much impact on me.
With both Australian and UK passports I could (if I wanted to, but I don't) legally stay in Europe permanently (with a minor cross border trip every 3 months).
However, I do strongly feel that Australia should charge a token amount (eg $20) for issuing it's ETA's. The argument that it might put prospective visitors off is nonsense. If you're going to spend $000's on your ticket you're not going to worry about an extra $20.
Not necessarily, as it could speed up processing at the EU border and allow use of the e-Gates. Currently non-EU passport holders need to queue to get a stamp. The longer the delay to the start date, the better imo!
That's correct. Australia charges $20 AUDI thought that there already is a $20 fee?
If, and a big if, ETIAS allowed use of e Gates that would be great but I wouldn't hold my breath....Not necessarily, as it could speed up processing at the EU border and allow use of the e-Gates. Currently non-EU passport holders need to queue to get a stamp
