I'm not defending VA here, but I can answer two of those. 1) Papers are offered on flights departing before a certain time, 1100 I think. 2) Juice/Water is served on flights before 1100, Mocktail/Water/Booze is offered on flights after 1100 Does that line up with what you've experienced or...

My experience in the MEL Lounge on Wednesday (Trying to get changed from a flight to OOL, instead of BNE) was that Economy was oversold by about 3 seats on each flight. So perhaps it depends on the route?

I'll be at the Virgin OOL Lounge tomorrow from around 12 midday onwards, flying on VA738 to MEL.

I'm always confused as to why people think that just because Virgin has been moving upmarket over the past few years, it means has to replicate Qantas. I know the planes basically look the same (White body with red/white tail), but that does not mean the airline is the same! Just because Qantas...

Re: Lounge expansions... I was in Melbourne earlier today and I noticed right down the back there is large temporary barriers with those "We are busy building a new lounge" signs. Interesting stuff.

Just throwing it out there, if the food is your soul reason for buying a flexi fare, you're doing it wrong. ;)

I was quite happy with my breakfast on MEL-CBR Wednesday morning, 7 herb Scrambled Egg and Bacon wrap with tomato with fruit salad. Not bad for a flight with less than an hour airtime.
