Adding a new segment to an existing oneworld classic-reward

Having recently booked a 318J ticket, I confirm that Qantas call centre staff are currently hopeless. It may be different if you get Hobart, but both South Africa and Philippines centres just do not understand what they are doing when it comes to these bookings and have no ability to get your...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

More than happy to spend time in HKG. Though, think I'm out of stopovers. I'll see if I can find some ORD - HKG availability

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Thanks, thought that was the case. Award isn't pricing as a OW award and that is the only thing that I think could be causing that... Other than QF error.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Every time I book one of these 318J tickets, I tell myself never again... Qantas certainly does not make life easy. Anyway, does anyone know if I will have married segment issues with separately searched Malaysian and JAL flights? My routing of concern is: KUL-NRT on MH HND-HEL on JL I found...

Report: Qantas Crew Sleeps across Economy Seats in full view of passengers.

Not disputing you can get a cheaper airfare than Qantas, or can use points... But if QF is able sell seats at that price, which evidently they can, then good luck to them. Not everyone is in the points game. Most people couldn't tell you what plane they flew on.

Report: Qantas Crew Sleeps across Economy Seats in full view of passengers.

I would assume a business charges as much as the market is willing to pay.

Qantas to Cut to 90% of International Capacity to end of May at least

😳 Tragic times for industry and staff.

Qantas to Cut to 90% of International Capacity to end of May at least

Perhaps. My cynical view is... whatever they say isn't a necessary action, will 75% of the time become necessary action in around 48 hours.

Qantas to Cut to 90% of International Capacity to end of May at least

🤣 I am sure all those balls go through a complete sanitising regime

Possibly a better chance winning Powerball I'd guess.

Qantas to Cut to 90% of International Capacity to end of May at least

Also depends on when your planned travel is. But things aren't looking great! My next 318J OWA starts in June. I've already cancelled.

Qantas to Cut to 90% of International Capacity to end of May at least

Yep. It will be interesting to see what the route network is during this crisis (and afterwards). I'm thinking similar to you, except I'd think they would maintain a token SIN & HKG presence too. Sad times for the airline and staff.

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

Fair point. The problem for Virgin is if they have people suspecting they are in a precarious position, that may impact forward bookings making the situation worse. I didn't book an intra Asian flight on Hong Kong Airlines as I was worried they go belly up. I'd personally think twice about...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

You are not being unfair. If we compare it to Qantas withdrawing from Beijing (the original business decision to withdraw, not the current situation) they offered: Rebook to Qantas services via Hong Kong for travel +/- one (1) day from original booking Rebook to Qantas marketed services to...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

Yes. It is just really poor. They don't seem to have any appreciation that people have a need to be places and refunds don't help. It's different if it is out of their hands, but they made a business decision (as they are entitled to do), but then have arbitrarly chosen a date and decided to...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

Just called them, and they could only do a refund. Couldn't even transfer me to Singapore... they would have to cancel and then rebook. There's only a few thousand velocity points difference, it's just so petty they aren't allowed to do it. No problemos cancelling a route for commercial...

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

Yes it is terrible. They have options they could provide and seem to lazy to offer it. Leaves a poor taste. I won't say I'll never fly with them again, because I will. But they won't be my first choice and my next credit card will be back with QF

VA withdraws all services from Hong Kong

I'm not sure what's odd about it. The carrier should honour forward bookings by using other carriers to get it's customers to their destination. Apparently though, Virgin thinks passengers booked after 30 April should not be looked after (I'm one of them). Pretty appalling commercial policy.
