90% to international?

I'm going to guess all that's going to run is a token 3-4 weekly SYD-LAX, SYD-HND, and PER-LHR with 787s and 3-4 daily AU-NZ.
grounding of the 747s, A380s, the JQ 788s, half the 789s and any A330s not used for domestic.
The decision that QF made to fly the PER-LHR sector has ended up being one of their most sound investments. Who would have thought a couple of years ago that PER would be the airport propping up the future of QF?!

Waiting to see if I will be able to get/from the Rockfords Wine Weekend

I need SCs to attain Platinum before 31 May and to that end have booked a number of SYD-AKL-SYD flights in May. If Qantas cancel my flights and I can’t fly until after May will Qantas honour ORC?

$5 will get you $10 that there will be status extensions/leeway/something else. I would not be concerned if I was you.

I wonder if they will keep the timing of the QF9 out of MEL (Or QF1 out of SYD) but just operate it with a 737 or 330 to allow for the connecting traffic. If they combined the 1 and the 9 (and 10 and 2) together on one 787 to the UK I still don't believe it would be full

Well it certainly won't be full enroute to UK, as from memory it can't operate a full loading due to flight path that must avoid overflying Iraq and Iran.

Where are the 787 crews and maintenance based?

Yep. It will be interesting to see what the route network is during this crisis (and afterwards).

I'm thinking similar to you, except I'd think they would maintain a token SIN & HKG presence too.

Sad times for the airline and staff.

Any thoughts on if they will keep some Bali flights going?

The rumour is Australia may close its borders entirely sometime - perhaps from this weekend (see another thread here on AFF). This would potentially align with DFAT urging Australians to return home now. In that case pax overseas may have no way to get home. This may not be a bad thing depending on your circumstances... some 3000 Chinese are allegedly riding out COVID-19 in Bali, having had their visas extended.

Where does QAN ground its aircraft ? Distributed all around the country at capital city airports (is there that much storage space available?)

At smaller airports (regionals?)

There's no way they have hangars for that many aircraft and the aldi caravan covers probably don't quite fit so..

guess i'll find out soon enough. very tough luck for us for our SYD-JNB-LHR-MXP-DOH-SIN-SYD round trip! 😂

Also depends on when your planned travel is. But things aren't looking great!

My next 318J OWA starts in June. I've already cancelled.
