Should P1's and CL be "guaranteed" seat selection?

I don't think this is quite true. You may be right that for my SYD - DFW flight next week the person in 5B is more important than me in QF's eyes, or it may be that they're less important but they were able to book there flight before me. The question really is "should someone who QF feels is...

Should P1's and CL be "guaranteed" seat selection?

Always enjoy reading the responses that Feper manages to generate. I have to say, in this case I'm tending towards agreeing with him (the sentiments, although perhaps not the way that they're expressed). I generally don't end up with my preferred seat selection because I'm invariably booking...

Mini TR: SIN to SYD BA747 J main (lower) cabin

QF10 in about an hour - so hopefully I won't get a droopy one (although having spent the last couple of hours in the lounge I probably wouldn't notice).

Mini TR: SIN to SYD BA747 J main (lower) cabin

Skybed MK II - much more comfortable, nicer cabin. BA J - too narrow and the cabin is too cluttered. However, I do try to take a BA flight every few months because of that stern way the FA's talk to me (you can take the boy out of the public school but you can't......etc....etc). ;)

    Showers - LHR T1

You don't have to stay airside - I used the AC lounge so that I could shower and get my shirt pressed prior to heading over to T1

    Showers - LHR T1

I'd check the opening times - I've just had a shower at the AC arrivals lounge in T3 - I arrived on QF9 just before 6:00am and was in the arrivals lounge by about 6:15. I'm sure that I wasn't the first to arrive either. Also I'm currently sitting in the BA/BMI lounge in T1 and can confirm - no...

    Perth-syd QF international connection

Although I haven't done PER - SYD - DFW I've probably done PER - SYD - LAX a dozen times on the last 2 - 3 years. I think the SYD - LAX flights usually leave slightly earlier than the DFW flight (i.e. it's a tighter connection). I've never missed a flight so far and even when the Perth flight...

    24 hours in Santiago

Mainly interested in not being cooped up in a hotel for 24 hours :). I guess I'm looking to do some sightseeing, find somewhere to have a nice dinner and drink enough red to ease the pain of the next 18 hours on a plane

    24 hours in Santiago

Thanks - the walking tour sounds good - where does it start from and do I need to book it up?

    24 hours in Santiago

Hi, Due to some last minute flight changes I find that instead of 2 hours sampling the joys of the lounges at SCL I have a little over 24 hours to spend. I arrive on saturday evening and fly out late Sunday night. I've never been outside of the airport in Santiago - does anyone have any...

Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

Hi, I'm looking to book a flight from GIG to SCL this Friday (21st Sept). Flight is JJ8221 (operated by LAN I think). Expert Flyer shows availability in business class but I can't book seats on either the LAN or TAM websites - they come up with no availability. Anyone got any idea what's going...

why is row 4 open to gold members at T80 - is this new?

I've read the various discussions on PCV but have nevere quite understood the relative balance between past and future bookings. I'm WP1 which is essentially a recognition of PAST spend. However I usually have very few forward bookings - rarely more than one, although I travel every month. So...

why is row 4 open to gold members at T80 - is this new?

My experience as WP1 is that I seem to have a fainter shadow than previously. Several times I've been in the front row of Y and have had someone next to me whilst the middle seats in the next few rows have been empty. So much so that I've started to consider going back to my old seat selections...

QF flight numbers on AA metal two class - Biz or F

I used to do this but my one change since becoming WP1 is to ensure that codeshare flights are booked on the QF number - this way the smaller number of SCs go towards hitting the 2700 QF target which is the one that I suspect I will struggle with.

Transfer Domestic to International Sydney [BNE-xSYD-JNB]

I think it also depends on where you're sitting in the plane - the winter schedule for PER - SYD - LAX is a similar 75 min transfer which I've always found fine when seated at the front of the plane (but not so comfortable at the back - in more ways than one)

QF8 or should that be late? (Pilots arguing)

Re: Pilots stood down after dispute in coughpit The newspaper article refers to QF having to use replacement pilots which may explain why we were originally told the flight would be leaving at noon the next day but in the end it didn't leave until about 5:00pm (and thus making sure that everyone...

QF8 or should that be late? (Pilots arguing)

I guess what I'm thinking is that if my 3 times on this flight are representative (I.e. Delay of 24 hrs every one in three flights) then I'll switch back to LAX. If this is just a one off unlucky event then I'll stick with it. I typically cross the pacific 6-7 times a year

QF8 or should that be late? (Pilots arguing)

Hi all, I was on the QF8 flight that was delayed out of DFW last night. Due to a combination of a thunderstorm, unwell crew member, and the time limits on aircrew being on duty the departure has been delayed by about 18 hours. Consequently here I am in a hotel room in Fort Worth rather than...

Going after P1 to get Row 4 seating, but have any other benefits materialised?

My experience is that op-ups have reduced (although as I've posted elsewhere I think this is likely due to the processing of upgrade requests closer to departure). With lounge guests I've travelled with wife (PG) and three kids both as a WP and WP1 and found no difference (i.e. ok with QF but...

    UA flights on Qantas website

Hi all, I'm looking at flights from Australia to Houston on the Qantas website and have noticed that it comes up with a number of routings that include United flights (UA xx_x), some operated by United and some codeshares (but still with UA flight number). These flights appear on either LAX -...
