Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

Indeed Nestor is a great asset for Qantas and I wish everyone at the First Class(!) lounge would deliver customer service at his standard.

Life Silver Recognition? Nope accused of made up crime and threatened with arrest..

This is not relevant at all in this case as the privacy laws in some countries (like in Germany) make it illegal to photograph/video someone without his/her permission. The situation in Australia is very different. In regards to the situation describt, while I think that in principle it is a...

    Lost luggage Sydney int chaos

At least I am not the only "victim" of this system ;) But honestly if this is a regular occurance, I wonder why this "premium airline" Qantas does not look into it and improves the system? As some have said, the best is not to check in luggage at all, but that is not really possible for a...

    Lost luggage Sydney int chaos

Yes, the phone agent gave me the option of picking it up myself or getting it delivered "next week". And all of that with the remark "it should be in Sydney, but this is not sure". My impression is that the bags are not immediately delivered, at least in busy times such as January. As I said...

    Lost luggage Sydney int chaos

Earlier this year, I had a frustrating, but also irritating experience with a lost luggage suitcase with Qantas baggage services in Sydney (international). The background is that a suitcase did not arrive with me in Melbourne after my Qantas flight from Singapore. As the final destination of the...

New changes to QF FF account page

That is a true improvement to have the lifetime SC displayed (again) for people (like me and many others) that have achieved Lifetime Gold. Well done Qantas!

    Avoiding the Qantas 787

Back on topic and I agree with RichardMEL that this IS a real issue. The plane in its current configuration is a nice place for Australia-Asia flights, but has ZERO special attention to the fact that it will be used for one of the world's longest flights and the lack of any movement area for any...

    Avoiding the Qantas 787

While I have not yet flown the QF 787 (like any paying passenger), I will avoid flying it, including in J. I think the seat in J is fine and in line with the competition, but I think the extremly low toilet ration on the plane is an embarrisment for a premium airline.

QF to Europe returns to the Kangaroo Route (via SIN)

Overall a great development, even for someone in Sydney! I think having first the short leg (to SIN) and then the long leg (SIN to LHR) is much better than the Dubai arrangement. Plus, Singapore is so much more attractive as a stopover destination than Dubai. One aspect / benefit for Qantas...

How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

I have experienced that at several Hilton properties worldwide (just not in AU). Ofter a special (in their view best) section of the restaurant is reserved for the status guests, sometimes this results in particularly good service in this section. Other chains do the same, for example the Crowne...

Connecting with QF in HKG from China ... a bit dicey? Advice?

This has happened twice with inbound CX, outbound BA. Maybe it is a particular issue with BA, but as this has not happened to me at any other major hub airport (even in LHR my luaggage regularly makes a 1.5-hour connection), I now have decided to make longer connections in HKG. By the way, I...

Connecting with QF in HKG from China ... a bit dicey? Advice?

I hope you are HLO because there is no chance that any checked luagguage would make a one-hour connection in HKG in my experience. Even on two-hour connections my checked luaggage never makes it through HKG, so now I am also leaving 3+ hours for connections there if possible.

Qantas: non-stop Australia (Perth)-Europe (London) Boeing 787 flights set to soar

I don't want to play the devil's advocate here, but I think you need to get realistic: Hardly any airline nowadays will start a new route without government support in some form or another, so I actually think it is reasonable that Qantas also plays the game and tells the WA government that they...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread Hello experts: I am considering my first 280k Oneworld award and have two specific questions: 1. I want to fly SYD-LHR-FRA and then FRA-DOH-LHR-JFK-.... Is that possible? (it works mile-wise, but is kind of "backtracking"...

mixed class booking of qf int

That is because NZ is treated like a domestic destination by the Qantas booking engine, so it is treating the booking like two one-way bookings. Unlike the "real" international destinations there is no requirment (= significantly higher fares for one-way bookings) to book as a return sector for...

Changes to partner earns on QF

I agree that "the changed definitions" should be reversed as soon as possible and before 1 December. The system is already complex and some of the changes (MH, QR or BA Premium Economy as Flexible Economy) will lead to frustration, angry comments and bad press for Qantas.

Likeliness of D-class opening up SIN-SYD for July 2016?

Just a huge thank you again for everyone's suggestions and help! We have now included a nice Tokyo stopover and are flying Business Class all the way.

Likeliness of D-class opening up SIN-SYD for July 2016?

Acutually it is worse than that! The JAL online booking engine did not show at any stage that we would be booked into Economy for the SIN-SYD flight  So in case that they are unwilling to change the booking to 10 July, I will consider going to NSW Fair Trading considering that they (in my...
