Reduction in Transfer Rates to Velocity/Krisflyer

I guess by complaining and getting a response that cites the T&C "we don't have to notify you" counts as provider declined "the opportunity to resolve the dispute with you directly".

Reduction in Transfer Rates to Velocity/Krisflyer

After a few prior screwups with citi where they think it's alright to take 3 weeks to process my money transfer (during which the money just go "missing") rather than the nomral 2-3 days, I have no more loyalty for this bank. I now only use them for 0% BT (free money!) and PriorityPass - they...

Questions: SG on international QF Economy, vs. Emirates

Anecdotally when I was SG I got op-up from Y (super discounted rate) to J on an international flight. After I got to WP I never got one. So maybe SG do get a better deal.

Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion I have certainly seen the booking system spit out itineraries that requires transferring ICN to GMP. E.g. this happens if you search HND-SYD.

Questions: SG on international QF Economy, vs. Emirates

I've done some economy both as WP and SG on Qantas. Here's what I always get as WP: express passes, priority bags, priority boarding, onboard greeting (international economy only). Here's what I get as SG: priority bags, priority boarding. No express pass. No greeting. It seems when I get to...

Australian Border Force September 2015 strikes

Will be travelling this weekend during the planned strike time in Sydney. What's the effect of the strike seen so far? (esp. for international arrival). If missing connecting flight due to immigration/customs, I assume Qantas will put pax to the next available flight?

Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion I passed too. Still got balance left over from last year because I couldn't be bothered doing the screenshots.

Unable to login to claim points or book flights - Unresolved

From IT perspective it might be the case that the account data is corrupted or something like that. Client-side issue don't normally cause issues like this (ISP issues usually mean either you can open the website or not) - assuming what you get is a Qantas web page with error message. Does it...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview! I don't think you need to collect any SC to go back to PS. From SG you'll soft-land to PS. I like taking cheap return flights to AKL/CHC though (usually JQ or QF on sale in Y), just to get a reason to drop by the F lounge :D

Do domestic sectors now add to the price of international flights ?

I noticed recently that the sale fare (from CGK) sometimes allow only one stopover. If you try doing two stopover it goes to the higher fare.

TV didn't work for entire J Flight LAX --> MEL

Few years ago on a flight CGK-SYD the aircraft was swapped from A330-300 int to an A330-300 (or 200) domestic, without IFE. On checkin they handed out a piece of paper stating that "we're going to reimburse your entertainment expenses e.g. books for up to 50$, please mail your receipt to Coward...

Associate Qantas Lounge not letting Qantas members in and poor response from Qantas

Re: Associate Qantas Lounge not letting Qantas members in and poor response from Qant Pretty sure last year I was able to get into this lounge flying JQ to SIN (no connections) with my WP card. Maybe the dragon has been replaced and wasn't properly retrained.

Virgin Amex Velocity Platinum card now 110k points

I put in my existing card number and got this same letter when I signed up. I also activate the card using my existing Amex online account. In my case 110k point still post just fine. In case you still need a link, here's mine. Thanks!

Which airlines will match my current QF status?

If he really flies that much as claimed in the LinkedIn post (I think it's this one and this one), especially in premium cabin, I don't get it why a status match is required at all... the posts are also mostly content-free, I think I wasted my time reading.

Virgin Amex Velocity Platinum card now 110k points

It's actually not that simple when you think about it again. A simple implementation would be to check vs currently active accounts (e.g. match it with the entered existing card number in the form). Then it needs to check whether that number is a supplementary card. Then it becomes somewhat...

Virgin Amex Velocity Platinum card now 110k points

Few more things: - The 110k sign up bonus seems to show up in the statement when you spend >500$ (instead of 1000$, although I strongly advise you spend the 1000$ to avoid any possible trouble). It posts as bonus points for that particular transaction which crosses the 500$ threshold. - Seems to...

    Using Satnav

I use Google Maps for metro area (where I have data plan) and Sygic for overseas (or long haul). Google Maps might be a bit better in figuring out routes taking traffic into account, but otherwise Sygic works great.

Is this the quiet season for new credit card offering with large bonus points?

ANZ FF cards currently have 50k QFF points sign up bonus and 0$ annual fee first year. I think there are plenty of offers. It's just that since you've signed up for all of them you're no longer eligible.
