You don’t start the payment process from the Wise end. Add your Wise bank details to your Amex account and use that to pay off your statements. Also, not sure if the checking thing is a new development, but unless there’s an official statement somewhere, I’d say give it some time to come through.

As an update, faxed those bank statements through to Chase, used my Wise bank statements. For a while the automated status number gave me a 2 week update period. However, in the last couple of days, it’s reverted to a 7-10 days update period. Looks like another call is on the cards.

Called the Chase recon line, and they asked for bank statements. Planning to provide the the HSBC ones. Will there be any issue if there’s no transactions on the account?

Yeah was pretty much instant rejection, not even a 7-10 day message. Haven’t tried calling them yet due to instant rejection, might try perhaps. Perhaps they couldn’t find any history.

I applied via their IBC. Not sure if you can apply online or directly via the HSBC US site and still get reciprocal status.
