Hertz 24/7 Car Sharing - Sydney & Gold Coast

Does the credit work on overseas rentals or on Australian rentals only? Hertz 24/7 looks promising for short runs across London.

If I miss a flight connection what will happen?

This is not a bad approach; no point spending any longer in airports and savvy travellers will often make connections average punters will miss. Sometimes you can get rebooked onto better fare classes than your original ticket too...

If I miss a flight connection what will happen?

Yes, BA will rebook you on one of the Gatwick flights if need be; not sure if they cover the cost of the National Express bus between the two airports (usually £25 per person) but they may do for F pax. You will need to transfer from T3 to T5 using the airside bus; there is no need to go...

If I miss a flight connection what will happen?

When are you flying? Just had a quick look at BA flight to LIS are leaving from T3, which will make the whole process much easier!

If I miss a flight connection what will happen?

I agree 1 3/4 hours is a rather tight, especially as you will arrive into T3 and depart T5. However as it is all on one booking, and in business, you don't really have to worry. If the next flight is full, they will keep rebooking you until they get you there! As European J is just Y with...

$0 Annual Fee for Life on Citi Platinum/Signature CC Complimentary Insurance

Many of us have multiple citibank cards, two should not be an issue. If they are hesitating about offering you a second they can cut the credit limit on the first so that your credit line isn't much larger.

    Heathrow Lounge (s)

No1 is good by all accounts; QF use it for their F spa treatments now that BA Flounge doesn't offer them. If the lounge access is the sole motivation for the upgrade request, probably better to save the points and use PP.

    Qantas misprogrammed domestic fare?

Same thing occurred to me. It would have been interesting to check ITA or similar to see if the fares were filed without taxes.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

re: "oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread Yes, BA charges huge fuel surcharges, even larger than QF.

    BA to resume LHR-KUL services

Almost certainly something in the QF/EK agreement, the only surviving QF codeshare to Europe is AY SIN-HEL, presumably because EK doesn't serve HEL (except in the sense of 10 across 777 seating).

eBay 15% off storewide today only

Ebay is up again, but breaking down in the Sunday night peak was not a good look! Best frequent flyer angle I can think of is to bid on the Amex free domestic flights that often sell on ebay; Western Australians can already get a bargain east coast return using these and an extra 15% when...

A couple of questions from an AAdvantage newbie

No idea, it might be easier to ring. I have the same problem with BA recognising my AA status sometimes, the call centre can see it but the seat selection tool cannot.

    Retro Claims - what's reasonable?

Yes, the problem is when you need to add the number at check-in. I've almost had rows with etihad check-in agents when asking them to add my Velocity number, most notably in Singapore when I got a little speech: "Etihad is an independent airline! We belong to no alliance and have no partners...

    AirAsia X loses US$40m in 3 months

The man from Melbourne does what an LCC however. I don't think this is an East/West divide, it is more than AirAsiaX and Scoot appeal most to the backpacker set, no matter where they hail from. In fact, increasing wealth usually means more individual travel rather than package tours, which could...

    Retro Claims - what's reasonable?

They have a bad habit of this. They also always include the somewhat patronising blurb about ensuring your Velocity number is in the booking beforehand, when though most times it is printed on the boarding pass I have sent them and has still failed to credit.

Going to Paris on train get euro via Citi ATM?

To echo the comments above, you will be fine getting euros on arrival in Paris. I have a vague feeling there are ATMs in the RER/Metro section of the building, so if you can only find currency exchange in the eurostar/TGV section perhaps head to that side of the the station (turn left as you...

GiffGaff U.K 2014 which plan get it delivered here and which plan?

If I was in the UK at present I would send you one, but alas I am not. My recommendation would be 3 as it gives free roaming in Ireland, USA and Australia! Roaming & international - Roaming & international - Support - Three Downside is coverage can be a bit patchy, but they all are. All tescos...

    Qantas Cruises

I used Qantas Cruises for a June cruise as it was showing the cheapest prices in the Australian market and had a intuitive interface (unlike most cruise websites). I received the points 1 month and 4 days after my cruise finished, so I expect they credit around a month after you finish you cruise.

BNE to Kuala Lumpur on a Virgin partner - any recommendations?

There is nothing non stop, other option would be Etihad to SIN than Silk Air to KUL, but this would probably have to be separate tickets. I think Singapore operates some services SIN-KUL on its own metal, so perhaps seek these out (although Silk Air is also very good, just single aisle rather...
