Double Status Credits Virgin Australia Activate by 10th Feb 2023. and Travel by 31st March 2023

Not reset, but they had some extensions and offers if you already had status that likely changed dates.

Not Happy P&O [Pre Paid Drinks]

As above. Never heard of a line just offering a package by the day - as obviously most people would then only buy on sea days, which would change the overall economics and pricing of it. Regarding the second option, the packages are not sold as discount options. Obviously as a flat price, if...

The Velocity Status Run Master thread

If you just want the cheapest option with the double sc promo you can get business class to OOL @$361, then a choice fare back @ $73 Tue Feb 7 for example, for <$440 (w/ disc).

Virgin's cheap business class fares are no longer that cheap

Sorry, all my searches had been for 2 pax. So they've changed it to only 1 business seat available as a reward now.

Virgin's cheap business class fares are no longer that cheap

I'm familiar with that option. As I said, VA made a change a few days back to what I wrote - yes, technically, it's due to the removal off all Business rewards rather than a change in cost, but the result is effectively the same. I noticed as had been looking and suddenly every flight on every...

Virgin's cheap business class fares are no longer that cheap

Well, they gave them another hike a few days back. All the $350 'cheapies' have now been removed from Fri-Sun, and now only apply Mon-Thu. Fri-Sun prices are bumped up to $559. These changes were also applied to business class points rewards on those days - all savers removed Fri-Sun. Now all...

Melbourne to Rome ( return ) about mid April 2023 until end of April.

For economy flights to Italy in April, I'd suggest Emirates, in the Airbus 380, as that will be best for comfort. They have good connections, and partner with Qantas to earn points. You can then compare what's cheaper, and see if the savings are worth the tradeoffs (comfort, time).

It is possible to do both upgrademe points & upgrademe bid (cash)?

There's no harm in making both bids. However, they are on separate systems, so if your award upgrade comes through, ensure you cancel your cash bid at that time. Cash upgrades are mostly done 1-2 days out. The award one would likely happen first, and once the cash bid upgrades have been issued...

    cruise surprises

Not sure what you mean. The drinks are included in the package price. As above that doesn't mean you can get every single premium drink included as well - that just isn't realistic. It's the same with food - all meals are included in the price, but again if you want to get special...

    Virgin Australia Involuntary Cabin Downgrade

Personally, I believe the treatment is sub-par. However, that also appears to be the standard used in the Australian aviation industry, rather than an indvidual incident or something directed at you. Regarding the refund, I believe it is left to the customer to chase it up with the call centre...

    Mixed class award flight

Haven't seen them. I believe each sector would have to be booked separately.

Help! Virgin International Award Booking in Delta-VFF Limbo

I can see both sides here. As I understand it, Delta have made a new booking, so it's not linked to VA's old/current reference, hence VA can't see it. And because it's purely in DL's system and they're no longer partners, VA no longer has access to new bookings. The only way out I can think of...

Velocity Redemption no Etihad Inventory from AUH to anywhere in Europe ?

Sounds like married segments are applied. This is where you can only book combinations, not individual legs. Married segments are set by the airline rather than seller though i.e. by Etihad, so Velocity can't override that. No chance Velocity can split them. I asked for something more...

Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

Except I don't believe that is part of it. The release has this statement: " Velocity Frequent Flyer members will earn Points and Status Credits, and Velocity Gold and Platinum members will enjoy additional benefits such as Priority Check-In, Priority Boarding, additional baggage allowance...

    12/12 Cancellations

Two things I'd say to that. 1) QF has a larger fleet so has somewhat greater/flexibility to recover in some cases 2) Individual flights as being compared here need to look at the aircraft route history for that day. Your colleague's flight may have e.g. flown PER-ADL-BNE-SYD-MEL in the course...

The Velocity Status Run Master thread

While you can, it doesn't appear that there are any benefits, for the same reason Virgin doesn't have lounge benefits itself on international. This is based on the KF link here: https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/us/ppsclub-krisflyer/krisflyer/krisflyer-elite-gold/benefits/ Where it states the...

QR withholding award seats from Qantas?

On the other side, FF seats aren't offered to your prime competitors to draw them away as that's not their purpose. The detriment is that it encourages QF FF customers to boost satisfaction with QF as they have access to the premium products elsewhere while not leaving the QF fold. As for...

Cruising choices with an active Pandemic

Plus Cunard are the only ones requiring covid boosters, which is beyond government or other requirements. And unlike other lines when I asked about it, their default stance was if you didn't have any booster, it was you cancelling, even though it was their excessive requirement alone (not...
