Hi all!
I've started browsing for discounted J fares to Europe for early next year using Google Flights to get a high level indication, and yesterday found one which seemed a reasonable deal; it was SG via SIN to an airport in Scandinavia which I've since forgotten and then SAS from there to...
@henrus if it's the single ticket, can't you check it through the whole way from the start of your journey and not need to do anything with it 'til the very end? Or is that not always true?
It depends in the airline … QF website says 2hrs before flight max, however for VA this post says you can do it: Earliest time you can check in a bag with Virgin?
[although I think I’d call to check]
Luggage lockers can’t be that exxy compared to a flight, though?
I’m sure if you know what you’re doing & hunt it out, you can avoid what Bali is & what Bali is all about.
But surely going somewhere to do something counter to what it specialises in & focuses on is a tad pointless?
Surely the whole vibe of Bali as a destination since the 80's meets the vibe of Jetstar?
Both Bali and Jetstar are totally about the drunken bogans, so Jetstar HAS to be it?
I had a few recent situations where I had to answer an unknown number … awaiting calls from tradies, awaiting hospital call to pick mother up, stuff like that.
Responded to a coupla scammers as a result, and now am getting more scam calls. :(
@stm1sydney - would priority baggage mean something to you if it were reliable?
I’ve picked my better-half up from the international airport only 15-ish minutes after the ‘plane parked at the gate, due to a combo of luck & baggage-priority actually working, and someone flying a lot would surely...
Now there’s a product a few of us AFF’ers should offer … it’s applicable across all airlines, it only costs $113.50 per year, and it doesn’t actually get you anything at all (not even a membership card).
It seems like solely a marketing thing, similar to how 5 stars is the internationally-accepted top level for hotels & so certain hotels in certain countries market themselves as 7 stars just to trap the uninitiated.
I guess … however they want to market it? I don’t think it really matters...
I only used to do that ‘cos I thought there was still kinda/sorta an implied dress code leftover from 50-odd years ago where only the well-heeled could afford to fly more than maybe once in a life-time so everyone dressed-up to some degree.
Now I don’t really care & “it depends” … it can be...
I’m still getting marketing emails from the (surprisingly affordable) washing+drying+drycleaning service I used in Glasgow 6 years ago! But finding & getting to such a place takes time you don’t always have (or want to spend).
Just be careful, not being able to sleep on 'planes can be catching.
My wife used to be able to park herself in her economy seat & be asleep sometimes even before push-back, sleepily wave-off the FA when they tried to wake her for a meal, then be awoken by the jostling/noise as the result of...
If they fly Boing! aircraft where passengers can just open a hole in the fuselage & climb out, they can eliminate aisles altogether - now that is efficient loading! And without aisles they don't need any flight attendants; and let's face it the co-pilot is mostly there for safety/backup reasons...
