I just am amazed at how good a deal this is... Of course AMEX are trying to drum up usage on their cards... But don't they realise it will be abused by those with a brain? I mean this deal is crazy...

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

Re: AMEX not accepted or surchage Dear Nlagalle... I am extremely surprised to hear that. I am the Treasurer of an amateur football club. We bank with the NAB. We have a online merchant facility (i.e. we go to a website and enter the credit card details)... We don't need the more...

Changes to AMEX Rewards Maximiser Point Earning

Yep. I can understand that. However, I just enquired to accept AMEX as a merchant... and they wanted 3.25% + GST... This was as a not-for-profit organisation. That must cover alot of the points expense! They can take it and shove it! Visa and Mastercard are 1.099%.

Changes to AMEX Rewards Maximiser Point Earning

I rang AMEX and they confirmed that all stays the same until 1 April 2009... when all Rewards Maximiser Cardholders revert to the new system... $1 = 1.25 pts, capped at $100,000 p.a. As mentioned... it was a little ridiculous having a card offering unlimited points at the $1 = 1.5 conversion...

Changes to AMEX Rewards Maximiser Point Earning

From 1 April 2009, the Rewards Maximiser Card will change its point earning rules. Cardmembers will earn 1.25 points per dollar spent, capped at $100,000 spend per annum. This is a huge and unfortunate, but expected change... particularly considering the other cards and caps they have in their...

    QF Club & Gold Status

NM, having attained Lifetime Gold Status, have you ever considered asking for a refund for the 18months that you are owed? They would probably deny it I would imagine. Just a question I have had for all you lifetime golds out there.... I know it is something I will never achieve... I always...

    Etihad Airways to launch Melbourne?

I have to agree with the state of the AUH airport... Once again I don't think it was built with the massive growth Etihad has experienced in mind. Furthermore Abu Dhabi is certainly 'older, less modern buildings' than Dubai... but they are changing and developing.. They were a little behind...

    Etihad Airways to launch Melbourne?

I don't understand why everyone is so critical of Etihad... I flew them in Feb 08 and they were absolutely fantastic. Everything went perfectly and they easily changed my return flights even when they were paper tickets, all without a hassle or fee. Mind you, I was travelling in First Class...

Change to Amex / QFF relationship?

Dave - That comparison sounds fantastic... But I prefer to compare the differences when travelling in First Class. AU - Europe on QF Metal, in First Class, Return: Using the QFF, 384,000 QF Points are required. Using AA Program, you will require 160,000 AA points (to get this you will only...

    Actually paying for F

We have traveled on about 16 Business Class Trips with QF and BA using our points. For our last trip to Dubai and onto Italy/London, there was no easy route to use points, and even if there was, it would have been impossible. So we decided to use one of the more direct routes and pay $$ ...

    AFR - Flights of Fancy

The article is to be found in the inserted AFR Magazine. There is nothing of real note in the article. Nothing we don't already know. Talks about how the no.1 desire of members is for them to get any seat that is available.

    David Jones Visa Card

Platinum Charge Card - Travel Insurance: Exclusions

I was just re-reading the fine print for the Complimentary Travel Insurance which is included with the AMEX Platinum Charge Card. I was a little concerned with the effect of one of the general exclusions of the policy. The exclusion (on page 25 & 26 of the Assistance and Assurances Booklet)...
