    The Credit Card saga continues...

Right you are! However, I would imagine a few members of this forum are owners of their own businesses? If they have a good relationship with their business banking manager at St George Bank or Bank SA - they should try their luck and ask for one! What is the worst that could happen - "no!"??!!

    Missing Foreign Currency Amounts?

I can see all of the Foreign Currency Amounts on my Online Activity Statement. On the top right, press the "show details" button or the " + " Button next to each transaction, and it should show you the foreign currency details... It does for me! Let me know if that works for you. PaulZ

British Airways Joins American Express Companion Airfares Deal!

Apologies! I jumped the gun. The first advisor who quoted the wonderful fares was wrong, even after I checked with her 3times. Annoying! The Real Fares are not as attractive really, at all. J $14848 (for 2 pax) + Taxes for 2 Pax F $19648 (for 2 pax) + Taxes for 2 Pax

British Airways Joins American Express Companion Airfares Deal!

I have just got a quote from AMEX Platinum Travel for a trip to London on BA. They have quoted a price of $7424 for two passengers in Business Class (ex Melbourne). This doesn't include taxes (payable per person). I cant believe this. I have to recheck with another advisor. But I rechecked...

Best Credit Card Earning Maximum QF Frequent Flyer Points

My Citibank Gold card didn't cut out after spending $60,000. We spent over $100k and got 1:1. The terms and conditions actually talk about minimum. i.e. the gold card is eligible for a minimum of 60,000 pts. (from memory). You are correct. Not that I know of (except for the St George)

    Macquarie Bank Platinum Visa Card

Bad News Unfortunately! It seems that you cannot transfer your points to Qantas FF. They said maybe in the future, but not at the moment. Obviously this makes the card less attractive.

    Macquarie Bank Platinum Visa Card

There is a new Platinum Card in town and it looks like it could be pretty good. Rewards points are probably the most important feature for most. According to the website you can earn 1.25pts per $1 spend (up to $200,000 annually). The only question is whether they can be redeemed for Qantas...

Qantas Enforcing MinimumNumber of Segments Flown to Retain/Attain Status

I notice on my "Your Summary" page on the Qantas Frequent Flyer Website they have added the Field "Qantas Segments Flown"... It would appear they are now enforcing the minimum of 4 Qantas Segments Flown to gain status. I was under the impression this wasn't previously enforced? Or at least it...

AMEX Corporate Gold Card Travel Insurance

I don't think $50,000 will get you into the front door of an American Hospital!!!! Well that is an exaggeration... However, if you have a heart attack, it will cost at least $1,000,000... $50,000 just isn't enough in my opinion. My Platinum AMEX card is Unlimited for Medical Expenses.

QANTAS being taken over by Macquarie Bank..

Simongr I tend to agree with your above views. I think the general public simply likes to know that the Australian Public has a significant stake in "Australia's National Airline" (via Superannuation if not Direct holding). Its as simple as that. The public doesn't like seeing those big...

QANTAS being taken over by Macquarie Bank..

If you have a look at the attached Acceptance form... It clearly states that "You will be deemed to have accepted the Offer in respect of all your Qantas shares if you sign and return this form" It also has a field where it tells you your Holding in Qantas (No. of shares). In my opinion, if...
