    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

Yes, as discussed a few posts ago.

EU261 for cancelled LH FRA-SIN flight

Where the 600 Euro is payable...other costs for meals & accommodation etc are definitely in addition to that. For strikes by airline employees (rather than e.g. air traffic control)...this would not be considered extraordinary circusmtances...so the 600 Euro payment should be applicable.

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

Most organisations where staff require certifications will have some kind of specialised software to manage license and certification expiry. There would also be notifications and lead time prior to actual expiry. But I know airlines can be antiquated...maybe they're just using Excel!

Emirates returning to ADL from October 2024

Well at least the 772LR has 2-2-2 in J instead of 2-3-2.

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

Informative article here from QF on what's required to fly into ZQN: https://www.qantasnewsroom.com.au/roo-tales/having-the-right-stuff-to-fly-into-queenstown/

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

That's pretty much what I thought I heard. The chap sitting next to us was pretty incandescent about the whole situation! I think he was probably missing his onward connection on QR that night. The cabin manager spent a lot of time giving him a detailed explanation of the events but I just...

    VA Cancellations, Delays growing?

I flew ZQN-MEL on Friday. Total cluster on VA's behalf! The inbound flight left MEL on time and was due to arrive in ZQN early. However more than half way to ZQN it turned around and went back to MEL. More than an hour later there was no status update on the VA app for ZQN-MEL, the screens at...

"We are Enhancing you NBN Service - And it will cost you more":

I upgraded my Aussie BB plan from 100/40 to 1000/50 during black friday...there was a code for $20 off for 12 months (not 6)...so my price basically stayed the same. Just prior to that they had actually reduced the price of my 100/40 plan by $4 per month.

United Airlines new Virgin Australia/Velocity Partner

There are essentially 2 award charts for Velocity...UA and VS have a different table to all other partners with lower points requirements...that's why. And QR and SQ have carrier surcharges...UA does not. https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/flying-status/use-points-for-flights#accordion-1

Tax payment by credit card through third party

No the maths is correct. I looked at paying the ATO using Sniip...the fee was just over 2% (vs 1.29% when I paid some others)...so I decided not to bother. I equate 100k points to a $300-$400 annual fee on a credit card (sign up bonus). Wouldn't pay $3600 for them.

United lounge access as VA platinum

On a purely domestic US flight...no, lounge access is not included in a domestic business / first. This whole scenario is quite unique...I'm really not sure what will happen.

Flex option - refundable or not??

I'm confused by fare descriptions I'm seeing on the ANZ website...or perhaps I'm not confused and just don't quite believe what I'm seeing. I see a fare that looks like this: Smart Saver (not refundable) I then add this in: But the 'Find out what's included' link shows: But..the new...

ACCC pressures Virgin to lift travel credit expiry [update - Virgin forced to extend]

The problem is the "they" in March 2020 is not the same "they" that continued to honour that credit until 31/12/2023...the second "they" could have written that off in Apr 2020.

    Velocity Partner Reward Availability Rules

There is absolutely loads of UA J in the next 3 months...I actually thought the availability dumps were more close in than that...more like 3 weeks. but yes, it is common for there not to be much further out than 3 months. I use Lifemiles search to do a quick scan. E.g. this is for FOUR J seats...

    Transit thru Changi

Where are you booking this? I can't think of a site that makes you do a multicity to pull up all the available connections. And no, you would not have to do that.

Lack of Food on VA Int flight OOL>DPS

Based on how much they plan to drink the crew may cut them off. Seen it on a JQ flight MEL-HKT...nightmare pax.

Lack of Food on VA Int flight OOL>DPS

There are no free soft drinks...let alone booze. Same for Japan flights.

Lack of Food on VA Int flight OOL>DPS

Given that empty drink bottles can be taken past security...duty free could be decanted into those at any time before the flight (outbound from AU that is)...then there is nothing to spot...except perhaps pax behaviour!
