I'm with you. There are 2 seats to LHR available on the dates we'd like so I think I'll lock that in for now and keep the last week of our trip flexible so if anything opens up we can change.

All looks good on a points calculation basis. Obviously taxes play a part. I came to the same conclusion but for Suites instead of J. I'm going to try do SYD-SIN-FRA(stopover for 2 weeks)-JFK because the points for that extra leg are a tiny bit more than to just Europe...+$100 for one-way stopover.

Australia to Europe via AUH on Etihad is two separate award bookings. To be one you can only connect via Asia Zone 1, Asia Zone 2, or Doha.

I found the seat was good/great but damn it was stinking hot laying in that chair. Not the fault of the chair exactly but overall it was terribly uncomfortable. Food was pretty cough but I knew it would be and just got off CX F + lounge tour so didn't care.

Taxes seem to be high to me?
