In the past Finnair offered a combination fare, Y from AUS to Asia on a daytime flight, then J for the long haul overnight flight to Europe. Same on the return.. Price was in between Y and J. I believe they don't advertise them much on their website, so maybe call them direct or try a TA.

True, though I'm actually leaving the day school goes back so possibly not a factor on the outbound flight. On the inbound the surprise for me was getting seats in First and there was nothing in business. As I say, all rather random.

It's incredibly random. I'm going MEL-LAX later in January 2020 and was only able to get two business award seats via BNE, but returning two weeks later up popped two award seats in First on the A380. You really just have to get in early and take what's there.

Hi, Does anyone know if there are problems with AA not showing award flights on QF? Today I was searching the QF website and found numerous award flights in J next February flying MEL-LAX and return on QF flights. Then I jumped onto AA and searched the same dates and got no J flights at all...

I'm booked on QF10 going LHR-PER-MEL in September 2018, in J. I'll be flying into LHR from HAM the night before on BA and am wondering if there is any benefit in ringing Qantas to see if I can book the BA flight on the same ticket and with a QF code. Am trying to maximise my SC earn. Similarly...

Does this only apply to AA flights in the US or other continents as well? e.g. if I have a flight from Europe say with BA to connect to a QF flight to Oz out of LHR, can I get the BA flight under a QF code?

Hi, I've done a couple of paid flights in J to the US when QF has one of their sales and I've noticed they often restrict the sale fares to departures on Monday-Thursday. Does anyone know if they often have the same restriction on sale fares to Europe? Thanks

I do agree about the saggy seats, and just generally they are now a generation behind. Others more knowledgeable than me on here have mentioned that the A380s come due for their first major maintenance overhaul in 2018/2019 so hopefully QF will take the opportunity to upgrade the product.
