    Airport bag handling video

The handlers will get sacked and will just get employed by some other mob such is the shortage of workers at the moment.

Whats the most amount of flights you took to reach your destination

SYD-ICN-IST-ZRH-LCY (Star Alliance J redemption) (OZ, TK, LX) Was supposed to be a 34 hour trip turned into a 44 hour trip thanks to snow in London which meant my ZRH-LCY flight was cancelled and then numerous delays in London/Zurich. Finally got put onto a LHR flight but my bags came 2 days later.

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

I assume you will be lodging a retrospective miles claim with SQ for the miles that your bag flew? ;)

Have they quietly removed the 1 free luxury airport transfer benefit?

Saudi Arabia to launch new airline ‘RIA’ with $30bn war chest to rival Emirates

So they're launching a brand new airline that will compete with an existing airline they already own...Makes sense 🧐

Priority Pass Lounge - AMEX Platinum Charge

No credits at non-lounge outlets with the priority pass attached to the Amex Charge. They had it for a while but was scrapped in 2019 iirc

    Liquid restrictions on Domestic flight?

Just jumping on the bandwagon as it has been 2+yrs since I last flew domestic. Any LAGS don't need to be taken out of your bag and put separately in the tray right? Only laptops and tablets go into the trays?

PHILIPPINE AIRLINES Sydney to LAX/SFO from $4,320 AUD [Business]

What are the transits in MNL like? Have heard horror stories of people connecting in MNL (pre COVID) where apparently it was an absolute circus with no guidance from staff and no clear directions from the airline either. From memory they were connections that involved changing terminals?

    What's your favourite aircraft type?

My favourite experiences were flying upper deck on a 747 (SQ in J) and then followed by sitting in the the nose section of a 747 (TG F). Both were very private and intimate. The A380 is nice, but also has plenty of downsides particularly if you're travelling in Y where boarding/deboarding takes...

Which lounge in Sydney, SQ, ANZ or AMEX?

I wouldn't bother with the Amex lounge. If you like your coffee, the NZ lounge has a barista service, the attendants in the SQ lounge will also whip you up a coffee but not sure how the quality compares to NZ as I don't drink coffee. The SQ lounge has their buffet up and running now, but I...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Called SQ this morning to change my redemption booking, call went through in 4 mins, longest bit was waiting for the agent to process the booking change (date and route) and fare difference (taxes) which took about 45 mins. I have changed this particular booking 3 times already, so that's...

Flying back to Australia from BKK, Lounge still closed?

You'll more than likely be directed to one of Thai Airway's lounges at BKK.

    BKK international lounge options

It looks like there is an EK flight leaving BKK at 1pm, so the lounge will be open at 12pm when your daughter is there. Not sure if they will briefly close the lounge between the EK flight and when check in for QF24 opens. Worst case is you lounge hop with the priority pass on the amex platinum...

    BKK international lounge options

I flew QF24 in J in March, unless things have changed, you will have access to the Emirates lounge. Check in agent said access was available to both Miracle lounge and Emirates, Emirates was a no brainer! Lounge has a decent buffet and was basically empty apart from other QF J passengers, not...

Terminal 3 Silverkris Business Lounge (not *G lounge)

The lounge is plenty big enough, the issue is Star Alliance golds are also using the lounge. SQ would be rolling in the $$$$ if everyone in the lounge was a J class passenger.

Is Citi Plus still the best option for overseas cash?

The $1000 doesn't need to be kept within ING, it can be transferred out.

Is Citi Plus still the best option for overseas cash?

Withdrew 5 times from an atm in Thailand recently, each time I withdrew the ATM operator charged me 220 baht (~$9), these were all rebated by ING saving me $45. 5 tranactions and depositing $1000 is a fairly small price to pay. If I had used the citibank debit, there are 3 locations in Thailand...

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

Hi all, Just rounding this out after a month away and arriving back into Oz this morning. I ticked declaring goods over the duty free limit on my incoming customs card and presented it to the border agent. They asked what I am declaring and I said I am declaring my phone worth $850 that I had...

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

So after being stuck in Fortress Australia for last 2 years I've managed to finally get out of the country with a short trip to Singapore. At the airport, I claimed the GST refund on a mobile phone worth $850 and was on my merry way. I then had a careful look at the TRS receipt and it looks like...

Business class transit through Singapore (Changi): an absolute farce

Well gone are the days where you could just leave the airport and come back at your leisure. Your plan would now actually require you to apply to enter Singapore which requires amongst other things an arrival PCR test.
