Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

This is correct. Just as an aside, I know the rules for OWA can be quite complex but the one about having to use OW carriers is quite straightforward and I am surprised at how many people in this thread seem to get tripped up on it.

Credit Card Offers St.George Amplify Qantas Signature: 80,000 bonus Qantas Points (expires 30/4/25)

If you get the timing right with the Velocity offer, you can do both :D

I would prefer not. If too many people get into it then it will be nerfed very quickly,

Credit Card Offers St.George Amplify Qantas Signature: 80,000 bonus Qantas Points (expires 30/4/25)

I do the same but even then, Qantas insurance shifted from six month lockouts to 12. Plus I have just had the devil’s own job claiming from BUPA for emergency surgery - initially they said I’d been with them for less than two months, then they said there was missing data for a two month period...

Credit Card Offers St.George Amplify Qantas Signature: 80,000 bonus Qantas Points (expires 30/4/25)

This is hugely significant and terribly unwelcome. We now have St George's and friends at 24 months, NAB at 18 months, and Commbank, Amex and Qantas Premier with greatly reduced sign up bonuses. Throw in the increased lock out times for Qantas Insurance and it's looking increasingly bleak.

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

This is a really good point. BKK airport is huge, beautiful but very featureless. All the shops are the same, every corridor the same, and the lounges fairly miserable. Time hangs very heavy there.

I left positive feedback on the call.

    Qantas call centre

Today I had to call the call centre to (a) cancel one itinerary and (b) alter another itinerary by changing two flights and adding a third one. I am NB but the hold message kept telling me that "as a platinum member..." and that "all our premium line staff are on other calls". I thought I was...

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

It absolutely is intended to be a gastronomic experience - to the extent that their menu leads off by saying that their chef has just received the world top 50 restaurants icon, whatever that is. The clear intention is to make patrons believe they are eating at one of the world's top...

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

This looks really poor - an illustration of why airlines love Western-style breakfast menus to cut costs. There's almost no hot food that is not based on eggs (and I hate eggs, by the way) along with a couple of token non-egg things that require almost zero preparation. Clearly it's not about...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

I do not like eggs so the biscuit would have been the only thing I ate. This is why I try to avoid breakfast flights - which seem to stretch up almost until midday on some airlines - or make my own provision in the airport.

Isn’t it convenient that focus groups always ask for fewer and cheaper offerings.

Credit Card Offers ANZ Frequent Flyer Black: 130,000 Qantas Points + $200 back

IMO the 90,000 for $225 is pretty good at the moment but the second year is not of any interest to me. Burn and churn.

Credit Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

I have churned Commbank a couple of times but not revisited it since they nerfed the sign on bonuses. So I looked at it inspired by the flurry of recent posts. The Ultimate card looks like quite a good one for a keeper but the bank’s whole offering seems to have so many stupid rules to follow...

    Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

I collect the 10,000 points. I have to spend 3,200 points to get them, so net gain of 6,800 points. I value them at $68 (Everyday Rewards conversion rate). So the question is whether I can get the four non-charity leaves for less than $68. Or do I attach a monetary value to the joy of having a...

    First Saver Availability

I noticed the change to availability around May/June this year where F Savers were no longer made available as part of the daily drop and there wasn't even an option to waitlist. So I guess the question is whether there will ever be F Savers released for dates after May 2026 and, if so, when...
