How can/should I use my Expiring Miles?

I've had a similar situation, but with far fewer points. They're expiring in December. I've been swanning about southern Europe and booking hotels with them. I've even managed to get one on the Riviera near Monaco for 17k points next week. Since I don't know my plans next year in detail, I'm a...

    Vietnam Visa - Apply online..?

I had the same problem when getting a visas for my mate. His wife is Vietnamese, so she could suss out which was legit, but they all looked suspicious to me! The gov.vn at the end pretty much ensures legitimacy, however, at least as legit as it gets in VN. I was just glad that I could enter...

    Thanks Virgin!

Yeah, they did the same to me a few years back, with a free upgrade to Gold when I was sort of close. I guess it's a ploy to keep you pushing for more points, and it worked with me, keeping that Gold for a couple of years. I then bought lounge access before dropping back down, because it's...

A new Dawn around Europe Then the UK.

Gorgeous. Vesuvius is a slog in this weather. You have to walk up. I'm keeping pompeii for when I'm here in a cooler season, maybe April or October.

A new Dawn around Europe Then the UK.

Have a great trip! You'll be passing almost within sight of me between Sardinia and Sicily, but probably not close enough to see unless they swing past Naples to see mt Vesuvius. Nobody has even asked about any additional documents in the UK or anywhere in Europe, so don't worry too much about...

BNE to MEL connecting to HKG are bags checked from BNE through to HKG

Then you should be able to check the bags through to the final destination. Just ask at the first checkin, and they'll let you know and do it if it's possible.

A new Dawn around Europe Then the UK.

Good luck with the various airports. Right now, Australia and England seem to be having massive problems. I'm not sure about BNE, but LHR is a dog's breakfast.

QFF '2fa' but changed phone number

Yes, as others say, calling is your only option. I hate 2fa now. I was locked out of my Italian bank account because my Italian phone contract was cancelled, me being away for so long (because travel restrictions). Built up €4k of unpaid bills. No way to fix except calling. Luckily got them to...

Transfer International to Domestic at MEL?

Whooops! Yes, you are correct, thanks.

Transfer International to Domestic at MEL?

I might be misremembering, but I'm fairly sure that there's a domestic checkin desk at the international terminal at Melbourne. If it is still there, and open, you should be able to checkin yourself and your luggage for the domestic flights. Virgin and Qantas had one. It's at the far right of...

Air New Zealand Lounge access - Business class fare with economy legs

Yup. Just show your business class boarding pass in the lounge. I did this when Malaysia Airlines upgraded us to 1st on our 1st leg (through Option Town - loved that), and got into the 1st class lounge at stopover.

    short check bag on SQ

There should be no problems. You just need to explain to the checkin staff for the first leg that you want your bags at the stopover, so not to check the bags straight through to the final destination. I don't know if you can still get boarding passes for the second leg on the first leg...

Why are airfares now so High?

As others have said, demand is high, and supply is lowish. Losses have been huge, and airlines need to make up those. The market now allows full-pricing as opposed to previous cut-throat deals. Add in the two massive factors of soaring fuel prices and (probably) double-digit inflation because...

Double Dipping on the Woolies 10% Discount

Wow! That's a loophole. I've been happily saving $40 or $50 a month now for a year by having a big shop for non-perishables each month. I'm considering a different service for next year too. If I can get $100 off a month... 😎

SYD to SIN - SQ Business

It seems a bit high to me. I paid $7,500 to go to the UK and back, which is nearly 3 times the distance iirc. Certainly significantly more than double. I did this in Feb, though, before fuel went up. Having said that, I just tried on the MA app, and I can't get anything less than $5,000 return...

Checking bags part way through an itinerary?

I'm fairly certain that you can just do a 'bag drop' at the international terminal, if you have already checked in. Ask at the first domestic checkin. If it's not possible, just don't check in to the international leg until you get there. You're baggage allowance will still port, as it depends...

    eSims, what is your experience.

I haven't used an international esim just yet, but I'm going to this week. I tried out an optus esim just to see if it would work as expected (and abused the 7GB for the first free week :). The process itself was amazingly simple. I can turn the sim on and off very easily. I was actually very...
