Qantas to start flights from Darwin to Singapore

I do not believe @Ansett Nostalgic was referring to BA.

Article: Latest Changes May Not Fix Qantas’ Reward Availability Problem

Agreed, also, while Business is fine, there's a lot more economy availability which is not unreasonable if you can get a short 5-6 hour day time flight OZ from/to one of those ports. It's the longhaul overnight flights where the lay flat seating found in premium cabins come into their own.

Article: Should Qantas Have a Minimum Reward Seat Guarantee?

I was told a tale relating to regular releases and standardised behavior by an airline. The source is quite credible. An airline would regularly release award seats at a set time in advance (e.g. 330 days). There is an award booking 'service' that devised Bots that would create bookings...

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

Personally I refuse to fly Jetstar domestic. With that I consider it quite reasonable to split Qantas and Jetstar. I do note you did not mention "group" (or Jetstar) in your post quoted here: (entire post cited below)

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

I suspect there were quite a few BAEC members close enough to life time Emerald status to make the effort to push on before it may become uneconomic. I am in the situation where due to fortuitous timing I may be able to achieve the Platinum Plus level early next year, hopefully giving me at...

What are the penalties for cancelling a CR booking three hours before flying?

Although I have not done so in the last 12 months, I have cancelled half a dozen classic reward bookings online less than 24 hours before scheduled departure of the first flight. Two of those were after I have checked in. They may have altered the interface. In each case the only cost was the...

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

I'll remember that, I did ask for "Champagne" and they only offerred "sparkling". I re-asked and was told that was all they had for me. I declined. Fortunately, I was on the late AKL flight so had time for a splash and go in the EK lounge.

    HKG - any airside hotels?

Yes, this is a useful thread. I am baulking at an effective $10 per hour. I could use one of my limited Priority/Dragon pass coupons for a two hour stay while waiting for the CX lounges to open 5:30am. ... or even find a nook in the aiport to hide / rest 'til then.

    HKG - any airside hotels?

I'm scheduled to arrive from the NRT lounge crawl in June at 1:40am and have a 17 hour transit. Do any have suggestions on where I may get a reasonable sleep that are not too expensive? At that time it will be taxi to get to anything other than the Regal. Currently, I can get the Novotel for...
