HKG - any airside hotels?

I've done this recently.

There's another hotel. Part of the Regal chain. The Regala Sky City.

Just a couple of minutes, one stop, and a specially priced cheap ticket on the Airport Express train to AsiaWorld Expo station. Then an undercover, easy walk to/from the hotel. You could almost walk it from the airport.

It's usually heaps cheaper than the actual airport Regal. And quite a decent hotel! Nothing too fancy but at least 3.5 to 4 star.

I was happy with it as an overnight transit stay.

For Hong Kong, and 24 hours (or really anything other than late night to early morning), don't be constrained by the airport. Hop on the MTR and stay on the island or in Kowloon. The intown check-in is ramping up again, makes it easy to get back (if you didn't have luggage checked through or are not HLO).

Many more options and much more to do.
Thanks @equus , agree, I have many great memories as a young traveller!

I'd happily head into Kowloon/ HK island, we did 24 hours (me with a broken foot) layover in September '23.

Have yet to convince Mr Flyfrequently to embrace Hong Kong......his Mother left there when she was 8 years old to come to Australia to be educated. His sister went and found that sadly, the family home is now a carpark, but am working on it!

We stayed at The Regal last week and it is becoming very tired. However it is very handy. If we were in HKG again I think we would stay elsewhere.

Landing at 17:35 and needing to check in again the next morning about 06:00 - if it has a bed and I can find some food then it will do. That reminds me - I should check to see what food is around the area.

I see a lot of mention of Novotel Citygate...no love for the Silveri? Also Accor, almost same location.
Plus the rooms are nicer.

I have also stayed at the Silveri previously and it was cheaper than the Novotel when I was there too.

The only downside compared to the Novotel is that the shuttle buses are very infrequent (once an hour). When I arrived at HKG, the timing worked out fine but on departure I just took a public bus instead (the S1 bus only costs something like HKD$4 and runs very frequently).

Same here, but I just got on the Novotel bus then walked through Citygate to Silveri. And there are lots of places to eat.

Thanks all for the tip of The Silveri, have just checked my dates and Novotel in this instance is AUD 92 cheaper - but will keep an eye on it.

Well I've checked into the Regal for the night - as others have said its a little dated - but the room is plenty large, everything works as it should, and I'm happy with it. Its about twelves stars better than some places I've stayed at over the years.

I'm scheduled to arrive from the NRT lounge crawl in June at 1:40am and have a 17 hour transit.

Do any have suggestions on where I may get a reasonable sleep that are not too expensive?

At that time it will be taxi to get to anything other than the Regal.

Currently, I can get the Novotel for AUD170 prepaid. I would get Accor+ Platinum benefits.

Regal is AUD206 but research indicates it may get a little cheaper closer to the date.

As I noted up thread, I got offered a very late check out at the Regal, well beyond what I was actually asking for.

It would still be my choice if I stayed again, even though like you I’m Accor Plat

Yes, this is a useful thread.

I am baulking at an effective $10 per hour.

I could use one of my limited Priority/Dragon pass coupons for a two hour stay while waiting for the CX lounges to open 5:30am.

... or even find a nook in the aiport to hide / rest 'til then.

Quite honestly, I wouldn't bother with trying to find such a place (they don't exist). I tried that a few weeks ago and, really, there aren't any. Even the benches have armrests along them. So I got thrown out of the Wing at 3 am and waited on said benches until 5:30. Even got a few winks of sleep. The champagne bar helped in that regard.
