HKG - any airside hotels?

I've done this recently.

There's another hotel. Part of the Regal chain. The Regala Sky City.

Just a couple of minutes, one stop, and a specially priced cheap ticket on the Airport Express train to AsiaWorld Expo station. Then an undercover, easy walk to/from the hotel. You could almost walk it from the airport.

It's usually heaps cheaper than the actual airport Regal. And quite a decent hotel! Nothing too fancy but at least 3.5 to 4 star.

I was happy with it as an overnight transit stay.

For Hong Kong, and 24 hours (or really anything other than late night to early morning), don't be constrained by the airport. Hop on the MTR and stay on the island or in Kowloon. The intown check-in is ramping up again, makes it easy to get back (if you didn't have luggage checked through or are not HLO).

Many more options and much more to do.

I'd happily head into Kowloon/ HK island, we did 24 hours (me with a broken foot) layover in September '23.

Have yet to convince Mr Flyfrequently to embrace Hong Kong......his Mother left there when she was 8 years old to come to Australia to be educated. His sister went and found that sadly, the family home is now a carpark, but am working on it!

We stayed at The Regal last week and it is becoming very tired.However it is very handy. If we were in HKG again I think we would stay elsewhere.

Landing at 17:35 and needing to check in again the next morning about 06:00 - if it has a bed and I can find some food then it will do. That reminds me - I should check to see what food is around the area.

I see a lot of mention of Novotel Citygate...no love for the Silveri? Also Accor, almost same location.
Plus the rooms are nicer.

Overnight in HK, didn't want to go all the way to the city, plus I have an Accor StayPlus to use
Booked The Silveri.

Shuttle bus was at bay 11-14 according to their website.
That was a Novotel one though...driver said mine will there in 15 mins.


Bus arrived bang on time and the ride took about 10-15 mins.
Car entrance was at B1, took the lift up to lobby at level 9.


Got one level upgrade to a sea view room.


Bed was very comfy.
After two weeks of Japanese super hard mattress and strange pillows I needed this!
Unfortunately not a unique Japanese...

I have also stayed at the Silveri previously and it was cheaper than the Novotel when I was there too.

The only downside compared to the Novotel is that the shuttle buses are very infrequent (once an hour). When I arrived at HKG, the timing worked out fine but on departure I just took a public bus instead (the S1 bus only costs something like HKD$4 and runs very frequently).

Same here, but I just got on the Novotel bus then walked through Citygate to Silveri. And there are lots of places to eat.
