Actually, QF19/20 SYD-MNL has mostly been a 333 this year, happily!

Just stayed at the Novotel (free courtesy of my Accor plus!) and fully agree with the above; definitely my preferred place to stay at MEL in future.

1A/K sometimes become available at T-24, but if they are still blocked you can usually get them assigned at airport checkin; the agent usually has to make a phone call to clear this.

Correct, these all disappeared years ago.

I also used these international connection desks at MEL T1 on Aug 20...I seriously doubt they have been shut down since then. They are certainly hard to spot due to all the building works but are definitely still there.

In my experience, they always swiped the card to check its validity, presumably to send a charge if some kind to DC.

I have recently flown a trip MEL-SYD-MNL return in paid J (I bucket). Owing to a slight stuffup on my part when the booked MEL-SYD flight was cancelled at very short notice, I wound up having to fly MEL-SYD in Y; this flight showed up in my FF history as "Economy flex" (1200pts/20SC). I emailed...

I have taken to using the KF Gold lounge at SIN T3; I find it much quieter and more pleasant. F & B offerings are not as fancy, but I can live with that.

I used this about 2 weeks ago..it does apply to Gold/Plat IIRC. It is not used for Dom-Int .

Data point: I am travelling on QF20 tonight, got to T3 about 3:40pm (in a partially successful attempt to beat the traffic) and was able to check in at the J counter. General checkin was just about to start it appeared.

Alas, not so...it is just that the note on the website advising of non-participation is now in much smaller print!

For interests sake, the Ibis budget at MEL now shows as participating, which it did not until quite recently.
